Kobernus was returned to the Nationals, so that experiment is now over. Looks like Tuiasosopo and his power may end up being the right-handed option to platoon with Dirks in left. I have seen rumors the Tigers are interested in bringing Casper Wells back, which would be fine with me. I always liked him personally when he was here. Since Kobernus' only real asset was speed, I guess I prefer Berry to be the other OF on the roster now if they go with Tuiasosopo. Leyland doesn't ever pinch run for the big guns (which I agree with), but it would be nice to have Berry around for maybe Avila or Peralta late in games. I am pretty certain Don Kelly is going to make the team no matter what, though. Santiago does nothing for me. He can't hit, isn't fast and doesn't play defense that well. I wish they would just cut ties and let Worth have that role instead.

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing him get some games instead of White. Otherwise, this is pretty much a non-factor move.

I'm not that upset. Murph grew on me over the years, but rolling with Ken and Mick is perfectly fine with me. To Murphy's credit, he has improved as a broadcaster. I remember early on he couldn't form sentences and didn't really add any insight to the color commentary. He still stumbled at times, but he could articulate about hockey at least somewhat coherently. The timing is quite odd. Imagine the entertainment value if Ozzie was down there. That would be my first choice, but I doubt he has any ambition for it. So long, Johnny-on-the-spot.

True, but that's probably the worst division in hockey besides the Southeast. Vancouver is the only threat they have to contend with.

In Anaheim twice, at Phoenix, at San Jose, vs. Chicago coming up. Granted, the Red Wings usually show up for tougher opponents, but that's a rough stretch. Further illustrates why you can't give away points to the likes of Columbus and Calgary.

Don't have the skill anymore to compensate for poor defensive coverage and atrocious special teams play. I think the Red Wings have done some good things through two periods, but far too many mistakes and some awful luck with the officiating. Our top-six needs a ton of help and I don't mean Bertuzzi and/or Samuelsson coming back.

No thanks on Komisarek. The defense has enough depth now. The need is a top pairing guy and Komisarek is far from that.

Unreal. Has to be so frustrating for Helm playing virtually no hockey in a year now. I just want him back fully healthy, so hopefully today's setback doesn't keep him away for much longer.

Probably for the best if Nyquist is going to play on the third line or get scratched anyways. Plus if this means Helm on Wednesday, then hell yes.
