If the bottom-six isn't scoring, shouldn't they at least be effective as penalty killers considering it's their primary role with so many calls? No energy, no offense, terrible at special teams. This team has four useful forwards right now. Everyone else is a passenger and/or very bad.

Cleary took a holding penalty. Back-to-back losses against probably the two worst teams in the West. When you were going to struggle to make the playoffs anyways, that can't happen.

Tatar looks good. We should let him go back to the minors and have Cleary and Bertuzzi fill the role instead.

I see once again how Derek Meech was chosen over Kyle Quincey. Dude is stealing money.

The Red Wings have one goal and Franzen is responsible for it. How is he the problem? It would be nice if the bottom-six chipped in with anything. The big guns (including Franzen) are carrying this team entirely. Doesn't help the defense and special teams have been as poor as the bottom-six too.

The NHL is laughable. Does anyone enjoy these special teams contest or does Bettman claim they are good for the league like shootouts?

When the Tigers won the ALCS, it was the first time I truly noticed how far Mr. I has slipped. Even earlier in the year, he seemed better at varying PC's like for the Fielder signing and Nick's retirement. I just really hope the Tigers can finish it off this season and get him a World Series title. He wants that more than anything.

Does this mean the third line is Bertuzzi - Abby - Cleary for tonight? That should be fun. Excited to see Tatar, however, especially playing with Pavel. Lashoff deserves to be dressed after his previous performances. Kindl is getting close or already there to being a case of he's never going to develop.

Terrific news. Smith and Ericsson have been the steadiest d-men on the team. Kindl has really shown nothing in terms of development still and Quincey is lost. Hopefully White can play for certain on Tuesday. Wouldn't mind seeing Lashoff back in for Kindl if so. -

That trade bait has zero points and one player on IR so far this season. That isn't getting you anything, let alone a top pairing d-man with an inflated contract. There's just absolutely no value in any of the guys you listed. The Red Wings don't have many assets to make a trade. -

Five goals against the best defensive team in the league, one against Steve Mason and Columbus. I think that's the type of season we are looking at from the Red Wings. An inconsistent, mediocre team. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Howard will carry them to some wins, but the rest of the group is largely a bunch of passengers. Time to get Nyquist up immediately. He is being wasted in the minors and this isn't a championship calibre team in Detroit, so they can't pull that excuse out. -

Why did Babcock go away from Franzen - Zetterberg - Brunner? The other lines are struggling, but no sense breaking up the one line that was consistently sustaining pressure at even strength. -

How can Nyquist and his skill still be in the minors when Bertuzzi and Cleary are here in prominent roles? That's inexcusable. There's a spot for Nyquist playing top-six minutes if they cut the dead weight out. -
