Zetterberg without question. He has probably been the best playoff performer in the league since the lockout along with Briere.

Franzen has three seasons of spectacular playoffs and two years of nothing running. I'm not sure that qualifies as a long history of scoring, at least not consistently.

Best game of the season outside the parade to the penalty box and not a very strong first. Helm being back does wonders for the third line and splitting up Z and Datsyuk spreads out the talent in the top-six much more. Bertuzzi looked like he had some very fresh legs for his first game. He creates a lot of space for Datsyuk to work his magic. Filppula was also very noticeable tonight. Huskins and Lashoff stood out to me on defense. Nice team win. Gonna be a tough challenge on Sunday.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk have been terrific tonight and so has Brunner. Quality screen by Franzen too on the shot by Pavel. Nice to see the big guns carrying the team. Stay out of the box in the third.

Some games they call everything, others nothing. Nobody still knows what a penalty is following the previous lockout. I would prefer anything but the officiating from tonight. Can't even get any flow to the game with this whistle fest.

Gotta keep everything close in this league. Wild interfere with Tootoo and it gets overlooked. Of course, they call it on Kindl. Refs killed the momentum just like that. Anyone tune in to watch the refs?

Beyond awful. No shots on goal. A bunch of passing, most of it from behind the net going nowhere. Our skill players just aren't that good anymore.

That's true and certainly possible. I just see two very different teams right now and the Blackhawks might be able to score a lot of goals against this defense.

With Chicago looming on Sunday, this is a pretty important game early on. Starting 1-4 isn't ideal. I think Helm's impact will be felt and the offense will score some goals. Probably going to need that to be the case unless Jimmy bails out the defense again like Tuesday. Let's Go Red Wings!

Well played. It truly does. I look at the games and nearly all of them are 50/50 in my mind of who to pick. First week is usually always tough, but I think between parity and a shortened season this may be the trend. Only six people got 50% or more of the games correct last week.

Emmerton over Eaves? That doesn't make any sense.

Not a big fan of Bertuzzi back in the top-six, but not many other options and it's time to try something different anyways after the first three games. Datsyuk and Zetterberg needed to get split up because they weren't producing much and it now spreads out the talent more effectively. Filppula had garbage help with Franzen and Sammy, but I'm not sure he can carry his own line at center and maybe he'll shoot the puck again at wing with Datsyuk. Z and Brunner better continue their chemistry because they are playing down a linemate. I would also rather see Eaves with Helm and Miller with Abdelkader. Hopefully Helm can spark the entire team tomorrow.
