Sad thing is, the Red Wings were the much better team for most of the game and still didn't win. They just look very fragile when things start going against them. Had a ton of confidence and then lost it in the third. Howard needs to start on Saturday, though. Mrazek blew this one, which is two of the past three games, he hasn't been very good.

You do realize the defense is the same for Howard? Mrazek was garbage in the third. Overplayed the second goal and the third goal was just sickening. Mrazek didn't get the job done tonight. Everything people kill Howard for here Mrazek did in this game.

If that was Howard blowing this game, you would never place the blame elsewhere. Mrazek cost this team a point minimum. That third goal is horrendous.

I'm more upset with Datsyuk, personally. This is basically a playoff game again and he's still "possibly playing the next one." Unless it's really severe, there's no reason to keep waiting. You have all summer to heal if the Wings don't at least get into the playoffs first. Love the guy, but man does he miss a lot of time.

That's just not true. There were plenty of instances in the first half where Jimmy alone got the team into the shootout. -

How much more is possible? He's basically getting every start at this point. I would say that's a fairly nice opportunity to prove yourself. -

Mrazek will have started five straight on Thursday and seven of the previous nine games. That's a pretty good chance to get a rhythm in a playoff race. -
I suppose that's feasible since Babs doesn't let Weiss do anything else.
