This has nothing to do with anything, but I have four Red Wings on my fantasy team. Yes, those four are Datsyuk, Cleary, Rafalski and Zetterberg.

I'd take Regehr in a second. He's very solid on the blueline.

I'm sure Rafalski sat in his hotel room and decided to be injured. Not much. The quicker you accept that Filppula is a third line center offensively, the better you feel about all the "potential hype" we hear year after year. I don't know if Fil or Bertuzzi was worse last night. They need to be split up.

Seriously, have you watched Jimmy Howard lately? Ozzie has been just as good, if not better. Maybe that's not saying much with the way the defense has been playing, but stopping 46 shots is incredibly impressive. The only weak goal was the second one. I now completely believe there are people that will never give Chris Osgood an ounce of credit no matter what. He makes 46 frickin saves and people are still bitching that he let in three goals.

What a solid argument. By years, do you include the 2008 and 2009 playoffs in that time span or are you selective in your dislike of Ozzie? 400. That's a hell of a lot of broken clocks.

I know, what the hell did the Red Wings do to deserve these injuries the past two years? Cleary worked so hard to come back strong this season and I think it's fair to say he's been the best forward after Pavel to this point. I hope he can pick up where he left off, but his speed looked greatly improved this season and I wonder what lingering effects an ankle injury will have. The Red Wings gotta tread water for the next month or so and make a big push down the stretch again. Are the Wild on the schedule like 12 times?

Because he's better offensively than Filppula and Hudler combined, not to mention one of the strongest defensive forwards in the league. Hossa's contract is a steal for what he brings to the table, it just isn't an ideal contract for that team. You can't really blame Hossa either for the Blackhawks struggles. Him and Sharp have been reliable all season.

Let Hudler walk too. There's approximately the five million Hossa got per season.

Our best chance at getting rid of Filppula was after the 2009 playoffs. His trade value will probably never be higher and we could have kept Hossa in the process.

I usually like "Winging It In Motown", but I came across that earlier and couldn't disagree more. Jimmy Howard has been no better than Chris Osgood since the Red Wings struggles began. This team will improve when they decide to give a damn in their own zone again.

Oh the guy who let in four goals the night before? Goalies aren't the issue. Howard is no different than Ozzie right now.

Yes please to Franzen, Z and Cleary on a line. Those two have had great chemistry with Z in the past and we have to find at least one line that really clicks while Pavel is out.

I don't think there are any impactful centers available out there in exchange for a player with six points.

Thanks Samuelsson. Surprised he didn't wire a slapshot and knock Lidstrom out last night too. This really sucks. I think the Red Wings will be OK without Datsyuk, but there's no room for any drop-off in the Western Conference right now. Filppula better prove he's got some consistent offensive upside very quickly.
