Wow, those are some tough standards you have there. I guess being the Red Wings MVP of the playoffs didn't do justice for you.

As close as the playoff race is and with so many teams involved, I highly doubt the lower playoffs seeds will be cemented for long enough so you can see Ozzie fail. Even so, what would Ozzie starting in meaningless games prove besides a reason for you to complain more?

That's pretty pathetic. Hoping a player on the team you supposedly root for fails. Your arguments are weaker than I thought if that's your premise.

That's easy for me: Meech. Although, I have to give Lebda some credit in that he has played some strong hockey the past few games. He was especially strong with Kronwall out in the third period last night in San Jose. That being said, we all know what we are getting from Lebda. There is no more potential to be tapped there. The only advantage Lebda has on Meech is experience. Meech is cheaper, has better offensive instincts, and isn't as prone to poor defensive coverage/turnovers like Lebda. I actually feel Meech has done a pretty solid job filling in this season with all of the injuries. Meech still has the chance to improve with consistent playing time.

Lebda and Meech together against San Jose? I'm not sure this is the best game to send a message to Ericsson.

Are you prepping for the rematch in June?

I would rather have Bertuzzi with Datsyuk and Holmstrom when Franzen comes back. Franzen - Z - Cleary was the Red Wings best line during the playoffs.

I want to see Lebda go before Meech.

Overpaid? I don't think that is the case necessarily. I do feel, however, that Fil is redundant on this Red Wings team.

Not to sound negative, but I thought the same thing after the previous West Coast trip and that had already been successfully completed. I'll be thrilled with 2-2 with the way things have looked lately.

All of those things can be attributed more to Babcock than Ozzie.

The guy has to be a member of LGW. Good for the fans there too.

May should be out and Leino shouldn't see the ice again with everyone is healthy. Maltby has been pretty solid, but he has to be the odd man out when Mule comes back. Eaves and Miller have earned their spots.

Exactly. Some people here make it seem like Howard was racking up all kinds of wins lately and somehow the season is lost by giving Ozzie a couple of starts. Goaltending isn't the issue. The Red Wings stink right now. Every single one of them except Lidstrom.

Really? That's why Howard has exactly one win in his previous five starts against teams directly competing with the Red Wings for playoff positioning. I'm not sure it even matters which goalie is playing right now. The fact is Howard wasn't getting the job done either if the standard is getting the team wins. So, the logic around here goes like this: Ozzie is to blame when the team loses and the defense only stinks in Howard's starts?

YES! I was really hoping to see Lebda, Meech and Ericsson all back together.

I must have missed all the wins Jimmy Howard compiled for the team lately.

Thanks for the advice. I am fully aware of Babcock's accomplishments, but that is downright silly to suggest no one should ever question his ability as a head coach. Right now, I am none too pleased with Babcock's handling of the goaltending situation and the fact his team has blown a third period in four straight games because of his poor coaching strategies. I guess we should all sit back and be thankful for Babcock's past accomplishments because that somehow makes him immune from making mistakes now.

The Red Wings aren't winning with Jimmy Howard. Mike Babcock himself said Howard was starting because the team needed points. It's time for Ozzie to get his shot. Howard had a nice run.
