I have to admit this is the least excited I have been for a Pistons season in quite some time. However, I think this team has some intrigue with so many new faces. I don't expect much more than a lower playoff spot again and a first round loss to one of the big three in the East. So far, the Pistons looked brilliant in the first game, albeit against Memphis. The home opener at the Palace was brutal to watch against Oklahoma City. The offense was completely lost without Rip out there. Both Ben's have been the most impressive to me in the first two games. I really like Ben Gordon -- he can shoot the lights out and the Pistons now have a threat in the fourth quarter of close games. Big Ben still has something left. His interior defense has been very noticeable -- hopefully he doesn't wear down too much throughout the season. The Pistons have a bunch of question marks and rather obvious flaws. Despite that, I am looking forward to anything that doesn't resemble last year's disaster. Go Pistons!

Z leads the team in points and he actually plays defense, unlike Leino. I highly doubt what the Red Wings need is to bench their most productive forward.

I have not been impressed with Leino either. He should have buried that pass from Datsyuk last night. Sad thing is, we need a guy like Leino to step up even more with Mule and Fil out and he has shown no signs of filling that offensive production. Every passing game makes me want Jiri Hudler back more and more...

The Wings can pull through this well if they decide to focus on defense. Big if, considering they have shown no signs of doing so to this point. They really have no choice now with Mule and Fil out for an extended time. This team can't allow 3-5 goals per game and expect to win moving forward.

You have to be kidding. Craig Anderson has never played a minute of playoff hockey in his NHL career. I can't believe how completely short-term your opinions are. Craig Anderson is not, nor will ever be a better goalie than Chris Osgood. Jumping to that conclusion from a 13-game sample size is absurd.

I follow baseball religiously and if the Tigers aren't around (usually the case), I do root for any team but the Yankees. It is the most arrogant, obnoxious, self-absorbed fanbase in professional sports. I am by no means trying to lump you in that category, but there are plenty of people that despise the Yankees and will root against them. I understand being successful is part of the hatred. Plenty of people hate the Red Wings because their team isn't the Red Wings. I respect the Yankees history and appreciate what they mean to baseball. That being said ... Go Phils!

Possibly, but I think Ozzie is the main reason the Red Wings even have three wins to this point. vs. Chicago - 32 saves/34 shots .941 save percentage vs. Washington - 22 saves/24 shots .917 save percentage vs. Los Angeles - 24 saves/26 shots .923 save percentage Ozzie has had some tough starts and let in some bad goals without question. However, Ozzie bailed the Red Wings out against Chicago for a win and he was real good against Washington (the save on AO) and LA too. It is easy to harp on the losses and look for a scapegoat but the Red Wings have three wins in large part because of Ozzie.

Exactly. If the Red Wings philosophy (not arguing against the concept) is to invest a ton of money into the defense, they sure as hell need to play better than they have through eight games so far and all of last regular season too.

Brett Lebda. Fluke goal on a great play by Datsyuk last night, but otherwise he was the worst player on the ice. Why exactly would Babcock put Lebda out there with a one goal lead and three minutes to play? Shorten the bench at that point and roll with your top two pairings. I don't understand people saying Maltby. Really? Malts hasn't looked this good in years. I won't even get into Ozzie -- he was terrific last night until that turnover by Lebda resulting in a "goal".

Yes, Stuart could have gotten that same amount or closer to four even. Rafalski's deal is worse than Stuart's. Stuart has easily been the Red Wings second best defenseman the past two playoff runs.

Iowa is just a really solid team. They aren't anything special, yet no one in the Big Ten has been in years. Iowa would get steamrolled in the Rose Bowl by USC.

The irrational ones are that way because the Penguins beat the Red Wings. I think most people here understand the Pens are a great hockey team.
