I'm pretty sure Crosby was praising Z. It doesn't take much for people to turn on Crosby's compliment into a negative it appears. I also agree with the sentiment that Z should draw Crosby's line when/if Pavel comes back.

The talk/hype surrounding Crosby doesn't really bother me but those commercials do. It's one thing to market the NHL's golden boy (which they do anyways) and another to make commercials that make it appear the Penguins won the Stanley Cup. The Red Wings are the model franchise in all of sports - I am pretty sure you can develop some marketing strategies based on a great team as opposed to one player. This is the type of area the NHL really lags far behind compared to the NFL or MLB.

Disagree completely. Z was matched up against the Nash, Getzlaf, and Toews lines in each respective series. Z is the number one shutdown center on the team. -
That's not something you mess around with during the playoffs. It looks fine now because the Red Wings dominated game four against Chicago, but had they lost game five, it goes back to Chicago and anything could happen from that point. It's a nice luxury to have great depth, but the Red Wings would have played Lidstrom and Datsyuk if they were healthy enough to go. If Lidstrom doesn't play, there's something wrong. He wouldn't just "rest".

I doubt they would play at 8PM on Saturday and then again at noon on Sunday.

McCreary is the best ref in the league and he deserves to be in the Finals. I don't care much for Joannette, but anything is better than O'Halloran. The NHL did something right for once.

Fleury stole exactly ONE game in the Finals last season. How did that work out for the Penguins?

McCreary is the best ref in the league by far. I would be more than pleased if he officiated every Red Wings game.

I would take Ohlund in a second, but the Red Wings are already stacked on defense. The remaining cap money this summer will likely go to keeping some of the forwards on the team. -

All of the finals games started at 8:00 last season. I doubt even the NHL is dumb enough to play an afternoon game during the finals. -

Hypocrite. That's so typical of the people that never give Ozzie credit. When the Red Wings win it's because they are a great team, when they lose it's because of Ozzie.

Great point. That's why Z always draws the opponents top line and is still + 12 in the playoffs.

If Datsyuk plays, I want to see this: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Cleary Franzen-Filppula-Samuelsson Hudler-Helm-Hossa (great line in game 7 against Anaheim) Maltby-Draper-Holmstrom I really don't like Holmstrom away from either Pav or Z, but he hasn't done anything with them so the fourth line and minimal minutes at even strength would be best.
