Columbus Columnist: Osgood is Wings' Weak Link

It would take a book for the Freep to publish the Jackets' weak link. -

Let's Go Red Wings! :octo: -
Why not? Everyone knows there would have been a thread had Ozzie not played well.
-
Holland is probably right, but those looked like the "old" Red Wings last night.

What a great kill by the Canucks. They took away all of the shooting lanes. -
Have you had any other choice?

2008-2009 NBA Season Thread (Pistons trade for Allen Iverson)

It's going to be quick and painless against the Cavs. We're gonna get swept. -
I read somewhere that it should be released around 9 PM tonight.

I'm very excited to see what Red Wings team we get for the playoffs. This has been a rather long and frustrating regular season to watch at times, but now the Red Wings have a chance to do something very special. I have no doubt that the Red Wings are indeed the best hockey team in the world and no one can beat them four times in a series if the Red Wings play with effort and intensity for 60 minutes. I like the matchup against Columbus for travel purposes, but by no means will the Blue Jackets lay down and be in awe of the defending champs. Mason can steal the series for them. That being said... Red Wings in six.

Sweep! 4-3 sure feels much better than 0-7.
-
Red Wings/Blue Jackets Let's do it.
-
Columbus without a doubt. The travel purposes being the obvious reason and I also think the Ducks would give the Red Wings a tougher series than the Blue Jackets would. I'd like to see the Sharks have to deal with the Ducks in the first round.
-
What a complete joke. And the NHL wonders why nobody watches...
-
Thanks for yelling and congratulations on the playoff spot.

Mule! It's amazing the loyalty guys like Z and Mule have shown to the Red Wings organization with these deals. I can't help but think this is somewhat bittersweet because this is likely the end for Hossa.
-
I want the Blues. Travel factor and style of play being the biggest reasons why. Even if the Red Wings were to beat Anaheim, it would be a physically tough series heading into the second round. I think the Red Wings could make very quick work of the Blues if the Red Wings we all know show up to play.

6-3 Wild, Koivu scores shorthanded. Nashville is done.
-
Helm is going to play, hopefully at the expense of Kopecky. I would prefer Leino over Maltby or even Draper, but I'm not sure that is likely to happen. I'm just excited to see Helm play again. I can't wait until he's with the Red Wings for good.
-
Maybe the amazing Blues should have gotten more than 3 of a possible 12 points against the cruise control Red Wings then. The Red Wings don't owe the Blues anything.

I'm quite bothered as well. Not so much for losing, but the way the Red Wings lost (again). Far too many blown leads at home in the third period because of poor defensive effort. This team has sat on leads all season. It's a bad habit that needs to go away quickly. It may be meaningless in the standings for the Red Wings, but it's concerning that they still can't play well in their own zone when leading a game. Too many turnovers and a terrible inability to clear the puck. I will believe the Red Wings have turned the corner when they start playing 60 minutes of defense.
