If I recall correctly earlier in the thread, Eva called the Ken Klee portion of the trade. Impressive dude.
-
Oh I know, I really feel bad for him. Atlanta was probably the last place Schneider wanted to end up.
-
Atlanta certainly needs the help on defense. I feel bad for Schneids though because the Thrashers are a pathetic team.

If Shoe was offended, then I apologize. I wasn't trying to imply anything by my statement. I still think it is fair to assume most Red Wings fans notice the difference.
-
I never even remotely hinted that I was a better fan for knowing. All I suggested was that it seemed like a stretch to me that a Red Wings fan wouldn't pick up on this obvious difference in the pre-season. If Shoe is a new Red Wings fan, that's fine. The question was answered.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Oh absolutely, USC is going to destroy my Irish. I am fully aware of this. It is still fun to watch USC get beat though.
-
It is a beautiful sight to watch USC lose - getting destroyed is even better. As weak as the Pac-10 is this season, one loss may ruin USC's shot at a national championship.
-
TBH, that is exactly what I thought too when I read the title of the thread.
-
I find it amusing that some Red Wings fans still haven't grasped this concept yet.

It is easy for all of us to be GM's when we can do it in hindsight. Matthias, at the time, was not a highly rated prospect in the Red Wings organization. Trading for Bertuzzi for that playoff run was on paper exactly what the Red Wings needed - size and a physical power forward. Ultimately Bertuzzi was a flop here, but it worked out worse for Anaheim than it did for the Red Wings. Everyone makes mistakes. Luckily Holland's are few and far between.

I don't really care who makes the decision TBH. Nine games is far too many.
-
Wow, this is certainly good news. Get well soon Lids! On a side note, this really highlights a pet peeve of mine. I understand it was a freak play that resulted in Nick's injury, and it could have very well happened during any game, but the NHL pre-season is far too long. Nine games? It is absurd to think a team needs nine pre-season games. Five would be more than enough.

Well-played Tigers. Welcome to the cellar!

I would take Jonesy over Rodney every day of the week. DD has to find a closer this winter - Rodney is clearly not capable in that role (or any other).
-
If Kopecky is healthy, he should be playing over both Mac and/or Downey.

Good one.

FSN Detroit is airing three pre-season games: September 30th at Montreal October 3rd vs. Toronto October 5th vs. Buffalo Hope this helps.

Sheff is a whiner, punk, and an ass - always has been and always will be. I will never like or cheer for Sheffield in a Tigers uniform. I was hoping Carmona would whoop the s*** out of Sheff. Instead of bitching about not playing the outfield, and going after opposing players through the media, shouldn't Sheff be more concerned with his .220 batting average? It's a shame Leyland still plays the bum every night, and he is under contract next season. I am done with the Tigers for the year - too disappointing and predictable. If the players on the team have clearly given up, then I don't care anymore either. The Royals are going to sweep the Tigers this week at Comerica, and we are looking at a last place team. Pitching and defense win championships DD; not an inflated payroll of old, washed-up, overpaid players.

Well, Notre Dame certainly had their chance(s) to win. Turnovers and far too many missed opportunities to overcome. The complete lack of a running game makes me want to puke. However, Clausen was really good again and Golden Tate and Michael Floyd are both terrific receivers. It is disappointing to lose, but I am proud of the effort from the Irish. ND is still a very young team, but the progess being made this season makes the future look promising. Congrats on the win to the MSU fans here.

There is a better chance the Red Wings will win every game this season than sell-out all of the home games.
-
Absolutely. 100% agree. This is really sad, but a true story: I was watching the Tigers on Tuesday night and going into the bottom of the 9th they were ahead 4-2. I knew Rodney would come in and "try" to pitch for the save. I thought to myself "I know exactly how this is going to end" - we have seen it from the bullpen far too many times this season. To no surprise, I checked the box score and hey Rodney didn't get one frickin out and the Tigers lost 5-4. It is so pathetic when you expect the bullpen to blow the game. Seay is the only one worth keeping. Farnsworth needs to get the hell out of Detroit, and Rodney is a trainwreck. I haven't looked at available free agent relievers, besides knowing that K-Rod is going to test the market. It's not like the Tigers have any prospects left to fill the void, so help will have to come via free agency or a trade. It's just a hunch, but I think either Maggs and/or Guillen will be dealt in the off-season.
-
Kyle Farnsworth is garbage. The guy is a disaster every time he pitches. I would pay him not to come back to the Tigers next season.

What expendable piece is going to clear enough cap space to keep Hossa realistically? Assuming Z re-signs, it's highly unlikely the Red Wings are keeping both Hossa and Franzen beyond this season. Franzen did play a huge role in the championship, but he had never proven anything before last March. Hossa is a proven commodity in this league. If it comes down to keeping Hossa or Franzen, it's Hossa 100 times out of 100.

It's all relative to personal opinion. Everyone is going to think the school they hate the most has the most obnoxious fans. I agree with you though - Ohio State fans are the worst by far.
