Great post man, perfectly said. Saying Cleary sucks is just an overreaction, and quite frankly absurd.
-
I could see Ozzie getting in on this. Oz and Drapes have been close friends forever.
-
Pistons/Celtics -- Could it get any better? The season starts tonight boys. Detroit Basketball!
-
Matt Joyce needs to start in left field. Bench Sheffield already. I would take that trade and contract extension back in a heartbeat.
-
I stopped reading after "God" said Osgood was bad...
-
Thanks again for doing this NFM! DET/PIT: 4-3
-
To this point, IMO, it's definitely Ozzie. Honorable mention to Z, Pavel, and Kronwall.
-
Filppula being hurt is an excuse, but it's not OK for Cleary? Have your jaw wired shut and then play with a full face mask. Maybe Cleary only has one goal, which is tough, and nobody knows it more than him. He still has played a terrific defensive game, and is getting offensive chances. But you're right, he sucks.

Oh so close now. I need something to calm the nerves already. Damn Red Wings. They sure are a pleasure to watch, but boy the playoffs stress me out.
-
I'm real nervous, but have a good feeling about tonight. Hopefully Babcock set the guys straight after that very un-Red Wing like game five. I expect some energy, and please get some bodies at the net. Don't make Turco look brilliant again. No score predictions, but Cleary has a good game. I have faith in him still. Go Ozzie & Red Wings! Handshakes tonight in Dallas...

Having Franzen back or Homer being allowed within 100 feet of the net would kill all of the Turco "hype". The Red Wings need to get bodies to the net tonight. It seems as if that waved off goal made them tentative about heading to the goal in game five. That, and the fact Turco falls down or knocks the net off anytime a player wearing red and white comes near him. I'm sick of Turco and his antics. Please send him golfing tonight.
-
Chelios out is a good move. He was awful in game five. Lilja can fill the role on the penalty kill just as well, if not better. Sure Lilja gives the puck away occasionally, but Chelios had more than his fair share of turnovers this series (especially last game). The forward changes don't excite me a whole lot. Seeing the name Franzen on the second line would be about the only thing that would. Hudler deserves more minutes, but Filppula and Cleary really need to step it up as well. The Red Wings will lose tonight if the top line is the only one generating offense.

Ozzie. It's not even a debate.
-
Come on Red Wings, end this series today. TUR-CO, TUR-CO, TUR-CO. I want to hear that chant all afternoon and send the whiner golfing. Go Ozzie & Red Wings! One win is all it takes...

Game three powerplays were 6-2 in favor of the Stars. Somehow, I don't see how that benefits the Red Wings at all, except for the fact they overcame it and won. To the bolded point, it was 15-15 through three games. The officiating for both games in Dallas was a disgrace and downright pathetic.

Hopefully these past two games are the last we see of O'Helloran and Hasenfratz. How those two made it this far just blows my mind. * Kelly Sutherland too for being a moron tonight like O'Helloran.
-
Babcock is right. There is no way Sutherland or any ref calls that a no-goal if anyone not named Holmstrom is positioned there. It's a complete joke of a call, and the NHL should be disgusted with the way games are officiated. Sad thing is, the NHL just doesn't learn. We have seen this before, and we'll see it again.
-
I can get over losing the game. I will be disgusted until Saturday about the Holmstrom call. The NHL is a complete joke.
-
I don't need Barry Melrose to tell me the Red Wings are good. You are seven months late on that mullet man.
-
They'll have plenty of time to rest soon enough.

5-9 GDT: (2) Pittsburgh vs. (6) Philadelphia
GoWings1905 replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
Welcome to the "who wants to lose to the Red Wings series?" I'm kidding, before anyone attacks me for jumping the gun. The Penguins will win this series, but I doubt Philly goes away easily, even with Timmonen out. The Flyers have played with a lot of heart and determination so far. -
Blake should win, hands down. Chelios is a great story, but Blake's is worlds better in perspective.

What a win last night. The guys look so relieved after Placido's hit. Losses are tough regardless, but blowing a four-run lead twice would have been awful. I keep waiting for the Tigers to play some consistent baseball. Some nights they hit, and don't pitch. The next game they pitch, and get shutout. I'm also really sour on Sheffield right now. Rod Allen making excuses for him every night why he is hitting .200 isn't helping the cause either. I swear Allen has a crush on Sheff.
-
I'm not surprised. No reason to change a good thing. The current lineup has won six games in a row, so unless things turn for the worse, I doubt we see any changes. Hudler/Helm/Mac have played really well on the fourth line, and seem to have some chemistry together. I would love to see Maltby play again, just because he has been a Red Wing for so long, and deserves to be a part of this playoff run. However, I understand why Babcock and the coaching staff are keeping the lineup as is.

Nice GDT, as always Aflac. I honestly have a bad feeling about this game. I think ultimately the Red Wings will win the series, but I see tonight going in the Stars favor. Just a gut feeling that hopefully turns out to be wrong. I know the rest can be good, but a week off was too much in my mind. Here's hoping to many TUR-CO chants tonight at the Joe. Go Ozzie and Red Wings!
