The I Hate 'Insert Analyst's Name' Thread
GoWings1905 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Melrose. How about those Sharks now mullet man? -
Hasenfratz and O'Halloran are still around? The NHL gets more pathetic every day.
-
Sweet! Lets hope the people in attendance actually wear them now.

Burnside breaks down the WCF and picks the Wings in 7
GoWings1905 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
Nice post. This is the same clown (LeftWinger) who said the Red Wings were "done" after the two losses to Nashville. The guy is a joke of a fan. -
Good. Only one afternoon, weekend game (maybe). I despise those games.
-
I just went over to browse at the Stars forums, and boy was that worth it. One of the posters there said the Red Wings would lose because of players like Helm, Kopecky, Hartigan, and Meech. Not kidding. Then he/she/it went on to say that Hartigan played every game in the Colorado series. Well, at least I got a good laugh for the day.

Anyone have an idea what the big "shake-up" will be for tonight's game? Leyland said after the game yesterday there would be drastic changes to the lineup. Getting Sheffield out of it would be a good start.
-
Well, picking only one series winner correct from the second round didn't help. At least it was the Red Wings that won. DET/DAL: 4-2 PIT/PHI: 4-3
-
In order: Franzen, Zetterberg, and Ozzie.

GDT: 5/2 - Dallas Stars @ San Jose Sharks
GoWings1905 replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
I agree. The Red Wings, IMO, are certainly a better team than both San Jose and Dallas. However, if the Sharks come back from down 0-3, they will have built up momentum and a lot of confidence heading into the WCF. I understand the whole argument that San Jose would be "worn down" for the conference finals, which is valid, but I would prefer that Dallas just ends it in game six, and we don't tempt a team that just pulled off a remarkable comeback. -

I do not want to play San Jose if they pull this comeback all the way off. -
Way to go Red Wings! Enjoy the rest boys, you deserve it.
-
This is a clinic. Lets just hope no one gets injured during the third period. Mule!
-
Sweep complete! Beating the Yankees is the best.
-
Classless. Enjoy your last home game Avalanche fans.

Hell yeah! I started cheering when they announced the trade on "Tigers Live" last night. Imagine how bad Grilli will get rocked at Coors Field. He couldn't even get anyone out at a pitcher's park, let alone now at one of the best places to hit in MLB. Grilli has been awful since he almost blew game four of the ALCS in 2006 against Oakland. I hope Cruceta keeps pitching for the Tigers as well as he did with Toledo. The bullpen has been lights out lately. How great would it be to sweep the Yankees in New York?
-
Time to sweep tonight boys. Get it done Red Wings! Go Ozzie!
-
I don't care what excuses the Avs fans/media use. It doesn't really matter what they think. The Red Wings are a better team, regardless of who Colorado throws on the ice. Injuries are part of the game, and the Red Wings took advantage of it, like good teams do. Excuses are for losers. Not surprisingly, Colorado has a lot of them.
-
Hopefully not. Although, it hardly matters at this point.
-
Pavel has been outstanding. The best player on the ice almost every playoff game so far. It's good to see him becoming more comfortable with his teammates and the media.
-
I'm guessing the effort you put into watching the Pistons will be more than the Pistons put into the actual game. They are about the most frustrating team to watch ever. I'm hoping the Pistons come out and act like they want to play tomorrow night. The Red Wings may lose games, but they almost always show up and play hard.
-
Absolutely. Don't forget firing Flip Saunders immediately. Flip should have been gone after last season's collapse, but if they lose to the Sixers, that's pathetic. Honestly even if the Pistons win the series, does anyone really believe they are going anywhere with their attitude and the way they show up on most nights? Boston will run the Pistons out in four straight, should the Pistons even make it that far.
-
I really hope Stuart gets back for game two. The Red Wings defense (especially the top four) is so much better when he plays. Here's hoping I don't notice Lilja or Lebda too much tonight and they both just have a steady outing. Go Ozzie! Go Red Wings!
-
I agree with you that some of the overboard reactions aren't needed, but Melrose clearly is what you described (anti-Wings) and he blatantly goes out of his way to show it. Once again, I don't care that he picked the Avs (or against the Wings EVERY time), but a guy on national TV should use evidence to support his pick and not some grudge against the Red Wings. I have no problem with "experts'" critiques or finding flaws in the Red Wings, but use some stats and at least back up the claim with more than "I just don't like Detroit."
-
Melrose is an idiot ... the sky is blue. Mullet man hates the Red Wings with a passion. He will never pick them, or even throw them slight credit when it's due. * I have no problem with Melrose picking the Avs. His reasoning though is laughable.
