Tatar is easily the Wings best player tonight. Great energy and creating scoring chances. I hope that unit starts the power play instead of Z's.

Kindl is a complete liability. That's just pure stupidity. Use that emotion to play defense sometime.

Z needs a goal in the worst way. I hope he can get one here in the third and maybe get on a roll. This is the worst I have seen him play for an extended period in awhile.

I'm fairly confident Cleary would be better than Franzen right now.

Smith and Ouellet played well together previously as a pairing. Think I would much rather go with that than the awful history of Smith and Quincey again. They just don't mesh at all and usually excessively turn the puck over. Wings still win tonight regardless. Revenge for last Tuesday and they follow up the Leafs effort with a better result.

Whatever happens, for the love of everything good, do not put Quincey and Smith back together while DeKeyser is out.

You would post that, of course. Funny though how quiet the Howard bashing club is about his play for 60 minutes of regulation in most games this season. The Wings should have scored more than one goal against a backup goalie if they wanted to avoid falling in a shootout. Not to mention, none of the Wings shooters have any clue how to put the puck on or in the net during the skills competition either.

Disappointing outcome, but the Wings outplayed them badly the entire game and just couldn't come up with with another goal. Hard to be upset, really. Sometimes the other goalie just stands on his head and steals a game. The power play didn't look very good, though. Franzen on the point isn't working. Well, nothing with Franzen is working right now, but that's really a failed experiment. Kinda strange two of the Wings past three losses are to the Leafs and the other is to the Panthers. Hopefully can make up for that on both Friday and Saturday.

He had the puck until a split second before the interference occurred. Kinda hard to reroute.

Franzen single-handedly ruined all 2:00 of that power play. Pav didn't even get on the ice.

That can't be good if Sheahan started on the top line and Z wasn't there.

I agree. Even when Z sometimes gets into scoring slumps previously, he's usually still pretty involved offensively. Seems like lately he is skating slower and struggling to hang onto the puck, which is typically his greatest strength. I just wonder if there are lingering effects from the back surgery bothering Z still. He will never admit it unless it's serious enough for him not to play, but major back issues are no joke for a professional athlete. I don't mean this as a criticism because any Henrik Zetterberg is better than no Henrik Zetterberg. I'm more concerned about his health going forward because the Wings are going to need him feeling well come playoff time.

Can Smith really be worse than DeKeyser on the point? I just don't know what there is to lose by at least trying it out.

If the Wings somehow find that elusive top-four righty d-man, they can hang with anyone in this league. Never thought I would say that two months ago, but these guys just continue to impress. A really fun team to watch play.

Helm and Jimmy were both deserving as stars because they played well too, but Glendening and Miller were the Wings two best players tonight. Sometimes it frustrates me how much Babs plays that fourth line, but man they earned every second in this game.
