    The original shot hit Mrazek in the head. I don't think he had any idea where the puck was and his helmet was probably already partially dislodged by that point. It all happened so fast -- I can't really fault Mrazek too much for that goal.

    Mostly atrocious defense. Wasn't crazy about the third goal by Mrazek, but I don't fault him otherwise this period.

    Agreed. I also think the Wings need to hang on to Larkin because they really lack potential high-end centers right now in the organization. If they make a trade to address needs this season, they can deal from a position of strength having so many defense prospects on the brink of the NHL.

    Jurco was also terrific last night. I thought his best outing of the season and he has five points in five games now. Admittedly, I didn't originally like the idea of Jurco with Glendening and Miller, but he seemed to feed off their energy.

    Why is that relevant now? This Wings team is clearly improved from last season and the Flyers are ten points back already. The Wings are much closer to first overall in the conference than they are to the Flyers.

    Weiss again! He's going to the net and getting rewarded. Very happy for him and it's a huge boost for the Wings if he's healthy and productive.

    Agreed, I don't like any of them with the exception of Sheahan's and even that would be better with Abby again instead of Franzen. Pav and Z will be back together probably by the third period tonight.

    I'm not sure what to make of that line. It appears decent in theory, but who is going to shoot the puck? I suppose it's probably a temporary move anyways until Pav gets back up to speed. I think the most surprising thing is Babs actually sitting someone from his beloved 4th line and keeing Jurco in the lineup instead. Would rather see Jurco playing with some actual skilled linemates like Datsyuk, but Andersson being out is a decent development at least.

    Very winnable game. Gotta keep banking points at home over the next month before the schedule turns brutal. 5-2 Wings and Z comes back to life tonight.

    Weak effort by Franzen. Could have easily skated the puck out of the zone and instead he fires an errant pass to no one allowing the Senators to keep control. Sounds harmless, but a careless play with only a two-goal lead.
