Why are the hooks only getting called one way in this game? If you are gonna make a weak call like that, do it both ways.

Maybe it's just because it annoys me, but it seems like the 4th line is always on the ice.

The kids are already playing. If Weiss can get healthy (admittedly a big if), it would be a huge addition to a team that still lacks firepower at forward. It's not like Weiss would be blocking any imminent prospect coming up from Grand Rapids. Dan Cleary and Joakim Andersson are pretty damn replaceable for someone like Weiss, even considering Pav would take one of those two spots.

The difference between good and bad games with this team is astonishing. They are consistently inconsistent.

That's fair. I do think you could definitely be correct within the next couple of years about Mrazek. The Wings need Smith back. The defense pairings and puck moving really suffer without him. DeKeyser and Quincey can't get out of the zone.

I feel like that's an extremely premature statement. Jimmy has been great this season. I'm a Mrazek fan too, but to say he's the better choice already when Jimmy has probably been the team's MVP so far is a stretch.

I know Babs is in love with that line, but I just really don't share the feeling. I'm perfectly fine with them killing penalties because they do that very well, but keep them to a minimum at even strength.

I hope Ouellet stays up permanently even when Smith comes back. Kindl is done it appears and Lashoff should be the 7th d-man at best.

Pav can not consistently stay healthy at all anymore. Not a knock on him because he works incredibly hard off the ice, but just disappointing how frequently the Red Wings play without him.

DeKeyser and the entire unit was a circus act until the goal. Tatar especially couldn't pass or figure out to enter the zone.

Just not the Wings night in any sense. Don't think there's a whole lot to read into this one besides it's going to happen over 82 games.

This is the complete opposite of the Chicago game. The Wings are not sharp at all.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of at all of sitting Kindl if this truly isn't a health-related issue. Lashoff is a plug. Even at his worst, Kindl is a better player and does move the puck pretty well. Plus if the Wings are still looking to trade Kindl, his value isn't going to increase sitting in the press box.

Rather unnoticed because the Wings played so well last night, but Kindl sat the entire third period and only had 9:13 TOI. Don't recall hearing any reports of an injury during or after the game, which makes it appear as punishment. I did think Kindl had his worst game last night -- him and Smith were terrible as a pairing in the first period. It is a bit odd though that Kindl only played nine minutes total. Going forward, Babs needs to stick with DeKeyser/Smith as the second pairing. They complement each other well and Smith has been overall solid this season -- the excessive turnover issue has been mostly resolved. Call up Ouellet and that's a defensively sound third pairing with Quincey.

Kindl carrying the puck up the ice on a power play should never be a thing.

You can tell the Wings haven't played in four days. They are much quicker as a team this season in general, but lots of speed especially tonight in their game.

That's an absolutely terrible call. Toews is a whiner, but he had a legit gripe there.
