Precautionary usually means a month in Red Wings injury terminology. Wish Jurco was playing over Andersson with Datsyuk out. Even though Jurco has struggled, he still has far more potential to contribute offensively than Andersson.

I wouldn't want Howard in a time share with Brodeur. At this stage, Jimmy is the better goalie and one the Wings have invested money and time in developing to be their guy.

I know what you mean, but the Wings were a little unlucky on this road trip too. They didn't play a good first period in any of the three games. Then they ended up controlling play most of the way after and got a disallowed goal in Buffalo and a terrible call in OT tonight. So, they probably could have easily gotten four points as opposed to only two. They definitely do need to break the bad habit of not starting on time. A better start combined with their efforts in the second and third periods lately would probably turn these losses into wins.

I hate this league. You call the dive a few minutes earlier and then let St. Louis get away with it in overtime. That was an obvious embellishment, but of course it wouldn't be a Wings game without the refs stealing a point or two. Such bulls*** how many times this has happened already in only 13 games. These guys have less accountability than politicians.

The Wings have controlled play in the third, made one stupid mistake and now have to beat Lundqvist late somehow. That poor start and costly decision making is a bad combination when you struggle to score goals.

Where the hell was Smith going there? Why did he jump up like that? Horrible decision, which is a common theme for this defense tonight.

How do eight eyes miss that? The officiating in this league is a complete joke. They see every minor hook or Wings goaltender interference somehow.

I know Kindl scored, but him and Lashoff haven't left their own zone otherwise tonight at even strength. What a stop by Monster, though to keep it even.

Cleary is going to be playing until April now. Honestly though, I'm happy for him. He has always worked hard and given a lot to the Wings organization.

No shots on goal, two penalties and a ton of turnovers. Plus they didn't play during the first period of last night's game either. No excuse to come out with this lack of effort in consecutive games. You could really add the first period in Buffalo to the streak as well.

Man, the defense is atrocious at moving the puck. They do move it to the other team quite well to their credit.

So, Nestrasil has magically shown something to earn PP time but Smith hasn't? I haven't seen anything from Nestrasil that looks like he belongs in the league, let alone on the power play. Didn't realize you could trip someone around the waist.

I thought Jurco played his best game last night. Odd timing to sit him now, even though I will concede he does need to start scoring. Problem is all the Wings are doing is moving around spare parts right now. It still doesn't address the lack of top-six talent.

Well, they obviously lack goal-scorers in general, but I expected more from both Tatar and Jurco than they have provided so far. Helm has no goals, Sheahan has one, the 4th line plays a ton and has one goal combined, who knows what we are going to get from Franzen nightly. Holland just continues to neglect serious needs. The Wings have an abundance of prospects as trade chips to address the lack of goal-scoring unless he's banking on Alfie as the solution (which knowing Holland is probably the case). Weiss can't even play hockey. So, now we're stuck with Holland's terrible track record of trades or hoping Mantha gets healthy and contributes in Detroit right away. I'm pleasantly surprised by the defense and Howard so far this season. They have exceeded expectations, but this offense is abysmal.

The complete lack of offense is killing this team. They are in almost every game, but have no margin for error with their inability to score goals consistently. Somebody besides the Euro-Twins, Abby and Nyquist have got to start putting the puck in the net.

Yup, keep playing the 4th line late in close games. Seriously, just use them on the PK and bare minimum at even strength. They have no shot at scoring.

Not sure why Franzen was on the ice over Abby for the PP in OT either. Franzen was horrendous the entire game and Abby has been clicking with Z and Pavel.

Beat the Kings and lose to the Sabres. Top line was fantastic, fourth line awful and the other two were decent, but need to start scoring goals consistently. Disappointing loss given the Sabres played last night and the Wings controlled most of the game. Hate to give away points against bad teams.

How many goals and points have the Wings lost already due to the refs? This is beyond ridiculous.
