Don't have a good feeling about this one at all. Unless the kids find their game today, the Wings just don't have enough to compete with the Bruins for 60 minutes. I have given up hope on the veterans (Franzen, Legwand, Alfie) contributing much of anything sadly.

I can see Babs wanting Franzen gone and Holland ultimately nixing the plan this summer. Holland has a lot of trouble letting players go that have been with the organization. He will just say Franzen provides good value for the contract, knows the system, can perform better when healthy a full season, etc. It's time for Franzen to be done here. If he's lazy now, imagine how ugly it will get as he continues to age. This season has proven the Wings youth at forward can play in the NHL. Franzen may have been less expendable a year ago, but he's definitely not anymore.

Besides wins (which is somewhat flawed because the Wings scored more with Monster in net), what was Gustavsson clearly better at this season? Since the new year, his numbers are terrible.

I haven't been on the buyout bandwagon previously, but I'm fully aboard now. Jurco will be better than Franzen in about two years anyways.

Babs' obsession with Glendening has gone too far. He lost practically every faceoff tonight and yet was always out there for draws in the defensive zone. Why wouldn't you try Legwand, since there are two centers on that line anyways? Glendening lost the draw cleanly on the Bruins power play goal too, which is where the momentum in the game changed entirely. The 4th line and Kindl/Lashoff pairing were huge liabilities in this game and they have nowhere to hide against the Bruins.

Boston is way better than the Pens or Ducks too. Neither of those teams is known for good playoff showings lately.

It was bound to end that way. The 4th line was awful all night and Babs played the hell out of them. The Wings can hang with the Bruins in spurts, but overall they are just the superior team. It's a shame the Red Wings from the first period disappeared over the course of the game. The Wings are always a defensive miscue waiting to happen and the Bruins are good enough to take advantage. That's not ideal in a series where you are struggling to score goals anyways. The kids are overmatched and Franzen/Legwand bring absolutely nothing to the table.

It feels inevitable right now. The Wings have gotten away from everything they did well in the first.

I'm going Tatar just because he has been very off the entire series, but is due for something big. I guess you could make that case for Franzen too, though he's pretty much a lost cause by now.

If you don't call that slash, then clearly they have no intention of calling anything in OT. I love how this league changes the rules based on the circumstances. Why make us watch a special teams competition all regular season only to let everything go in the playoffs?

How do so many scoring chances end up on Quincey's stick? It's really noticeable now bad the d-men are at getting pucks through to the net.

The Wings better find a push here real soon. They aren't challenging Rask at all. Weak wrist shots from the perimeter aren't going to get it done.

That's way too easy. Defensive breakdowns have plagued this team all season. Lucic, of all players too.

Now would be a great time to change the season-long trend and hold a third period lead at home. Kindl and Lashoff should get maybe two shifts.

Man, these refs are letting the Bruins get away with just about everything. Then they turn around and have awared the Bruins two power plays on dives by Smith and Chara. Marchand isn't even trying to play hockey and they call nothing.

Call a dive on these morons and that never happens. Such a disgrace that Chara gets away with it, but Marchand can just cross check Z for the hell of it.

Chara goes down like he's the size of Tatar. The Bruins get away with everything and the Wings get called for the slightest infractions.

Somebody please hurt Marchand for real since he likes faking it anyways.

Something bad is going to happen because of Kindl tonight. There have been numerous instances of coming close already.

Pav! What a difference adding Z has made to that first line. Abby can still do his thing, but Z is just so much better with Pav than Franzen.

That was a great period. Best of the series so far. Wish they could have buried another, but it will come if they keep up that effort.
