The Wings don't suck. They clearly have some serious defensive issues, though. That isn't just appearing tonight. Really need E back to have any shot in the first round if they get in.

This is what happens when you don't address the defense for three years running.

It is. One reason I don't like the Wings chances against the Bruins or Pens in a long series is the lack of E. Those teams will expose the Wings defensively unless Jimmy steals games. One of Kindl or Lashoff might be less trouble, but both as a pairing is nightmarish.

Lashoff is a plug. Terrible angle to the puck. Wings make a couple mistakes defensively and it ends up in the net.

Franzen is so careless with the puck lately. He just doesn't have any desire to hang on to it and drive to the net consistently.

Kindl stinks, but once again, Bourque goes down and they get a call. Brad Watson is a joke.

That whistle was really late. Just fall down and get a call if you are the Canadiens tonight.

Did Kindl make that idiotic pass in the neutral zone to turn it over?

Daniel Briere acting tough? Smith gets hauled down and no call, but they called whatever the hell happened at the blue line against the Wings.

I still have hope for Weiss. Frustrating, but I'm not going to write him off entirely in an injury riddled season. If he comes back healthy in the fall, I still expect him to be a 50-60 point player for the Wings. No team is going to want him in a trade and there's no sense in buying him out -- nobody can really judge what type of player he might be the next four years based on 26 games. It will be interesting to see if the Red Wings opt to re-sign Legwand with their glut of centers.

Glad the Sabres mostly passed it around there in the final minute. Ugly game besides the first period, but was a much-needed win and they got it. This team is nowhere near good enough defensively to try and shut it down with a lead.

Gotcha. No responsibility ever falls on this very incompetent defense.

I see the Wings have resorted to the play 20 minutes and try to win a game method again. Somehow worked against Boston, let's hope they can hold on tonight.

Second goal had nothing to do with Jimmy actually. Kindl played no defense at all, which is nothing new.

Nothing good ever happens with Kindl and Lashoff out there together. Franzen will never score again either.

Call both or neither there. Smith shouldn't get the only penalty out of that.

My second favorite team is anyone playing Chicago.

This team, wow. They had no business winning tonight and they have no business being in a playoff spot, but they continue to do the improbable. What a job by Babs and his coaching staff to keep this group competing through everything that has gone against them. I can't really add anything else about the kids that hasn't already been said. Never thought I would have so much fun watching the Red Wings play without Z and Pavel. Jimmy stole this game, though. The Bruins dominated the first 40 minutes. Jimmy kept the Wings in it and then the kids did their thing. Felt like a playoff game at the end -- I was a nervous wreck in the last couple minutes. Nice to have a little practice before the real deal, which is even more likely after those two points tonight. What a game! I'm glad that fanboy Edzo had to sit and watch the Red Wings win too.

Good work, refs. If you think Abby shot that out, then it has to be a penalty too.

Why are Quincey and Smith out there together in this situation? That seems like asking for trouble.

I hate Franzen. Doesn't shoot nor get a pass to Nyquist on a 2-on-1 and then lingers in the zone offside because he's tired from skating for the first time in three weeks.
