Jimmy has to stop that and I've defended him quite a bit. The Wings need more sustained pressure. Once again, the kid line is the only creating anything. -

The media has been writing that script since 2002. I think Holland has botched the defense since Nick retired, but beyond that people claimed the Wings were done when Stevie left too. Apparently they haven't watched all of the young talent on the team this season. The best line is comprised of three "kids". I think the future is very bright with some tinkering along the way. -

5-4 might get the Wings in. I think 6-3 almost certainly does unless the other wild card teams go on winning streaks. Problem is where do you get six wins on that remaining schedule? You would like to believe two against Buffalo and one against Carolina. Then you have to split the remaining six against quality opponents. Certainly possible, but there's no more time to give away points or wins. It's probably 50/50 right now and this weekend could swing it either way.

I don't either, but who knows with this team. Columbus and Washington appear to have easier schedules than the Wings and the Leafs are in a freefall, but the game on Saturday could change that. They have given away so many points through the course of the season, you just feel like that is ultimately going to be their undoing at the end.

Babs is pissed. I don't blame him. The three guys wearing A's on their jerseys were among the three worst players on the ice. I will give Kronner a pass, but unacceptable for Mule and Alfie to be invisible yet again. Still have the Bruins, Penguins and Blues on the schedule. Plus the Leafs and Lightning this weekend and Canadiens one more time. There's no margin for error anymore.

It's laughable because the Wings lost Jarnkrok for a rental. Yet at the same time, do we really want Legwand back long-term after this showing?

Babs deserves a ton of blame for the 2-0 deficit. The kid line didn't play the first six minutes and he didn't realize they were the only line worth a damn until the third. He was riding Glendening and Bertuzzi early in the game -- there's no good reason for that. Legwand and Alfie could kindly start playing hockey soon too. What a solid veteran presence they provide when the kids are the only reason this team has any chance to win games.

That's a tough one to swallow. Quality officiating at the end. Call Smith for a hook and overlook one on Tatar. Not to mention, apparently not understanding what constitutes offside. Another game where it was all the kid line. Mule scored, but he was awful besides that. Legwand and Alfie were even worse. The kids are competing and producing while the veterans are blowing the team's playoff hopes. Bad time for a losing streak. Saturday is a must-win in regulation.

The kid line just wants it more every shift. They compete like Z and Pav.

That offside goal is going to be the difference if this season is any indication. The defense is a complete disaster, but the offense is still competing. Kronner barely missed. Please get a point at least.

Legwand has to be -5 tonight. Alfie isn't much better. Can't win games with one line and no defense.

Nice officiating, like always. It would be nice if plays like that didn't end up in the net, though. Kronwall should have kept defending.

Legwand was bumming on a line with Alfie and Miller near the end of the second. Gonna be tough to beat Price twice in a period. Especially with only one line generating any offense.
