Positive to having so many bottom-six plugs is they produce a solid PK. A ton of blocked shots so far already.

Weak call. Better do it both ways if that's the standard for interference tonight.

Outplayed badly, but that was expected. Jimmy was terrific. Only forward line that did anything positive was Sheahan's.

Second PP group far better than the first. They move the puck much more efficiently.

Jimmy is probably going to have to steal this game for the Wings to have a prayer. Man, their third line is arguably better than our first right now. Brutal schedule, doesn't seem like any injured bodies are close to returning and the competition keeps winning. Better start stringing some wins together here real quick. Maybe the Wings can subtle interference their way to a victory.

I thought so. And I'm not someone that believes effort has been a major issue for the Red Wings this season. Most games they show up and just don't have the skill to put them over the top with all of the injuries. Outside of Sheahan and Tatar, nobody really seemed engaged against the Oilers.

Better than Bertuzzi, but the Wings need impact players back instead of rotating in bodies. The team look uninspired against the Oilers, so hopefully Tootoo can provide some energy and excitement in Chicago.

Smith has been great tonight and then he turns into last year on one play. Defense is so mistake prone and the Wings just aren't going to score enough right now to allow errors like that to occur. -

Not all that surprising since the Wings have basically two NHL calibre lines at the moment. Plus Franzen and Nyquist have slowed down, so there aren't many sources of offense playing. -

Next five games after tonight: at Chicago, vs. Toronto, vs. Pittsburgh, at/vs. Minnesota. I don't know if a "must-win" game is possible on March 14th, but this just might be close to one.
