Maybe slightly, but it was hardly a one-sided game. The Red Wings had ~40 shots and plenty of quality scoring chances too. The Rangers didn't do much more to create that one lucky bounce than the Wings did.
-
I'm not even mad. Could have easily won again, just like in Anaheim. The calendar is moving along, though. Much more of a hole and the playoffs may not happen. Somebody get healthy -- I'm so sick of hearing "the injured players are close." They have been claiming that for nearly a month.
-
It's official: the Red Wings have absolutely no luck.
-
Possibly. Really though you can move these parts around and it essentially won't matter. The Wings have one scoring line, maybe a third line and two fourth lines out there tonight. They just desperately need healthy bodies back very soon. The team hasn't really played poorly lately, but obviously tough to score goals with no top-six.
-
Of course. How come the Wings can't get a bounce like that? Not surprising they are about to be shutout again. Just no offensive ability with this lineup.
-
Well, haven't scored a goal in five periods now. Good news is they have only given up one and have a shot to win again. Jurco and Sheahan need to stay.
-
Nash's legs went out awfully easy there for such a big dude. Do they call diving anymore?
-
Worst job ever: Kyle Quincey's agent. There's no way he deserves an NHL contract next summer.
-
Rolling two fourth lines and a borderline third line. Good luck, Z.
-
Just going to assume lower body for Andersson is a groin at this point. The Wings should probably just resort to changing day-to-day to month-to-month on the injury report as well. This is so frustrating because this team has decent potential with healthy bodies, but they haven't gotten remotely close to being there in months. Like others have said, you have to wonder what is going on from a medical/training staff perspective. This is two straight seasons of being decimated by injury.
-
Great news! Jurco should have really stayed up the entire time with all of the injuries to key players. I guess this could also mean the Red Wings don't expect anyone back on Thursday with no Tatar either.
-
Fair enough, just going off what I saw. Still thought this was a poorly coached game by Babs.
-
FSD showed him at a little over ten before he took the final shift.
-
Good effort given the circumstances and a disappointing outcome. 2-2 on this road trip is pretty solid missing so many key players. Still pissed about Babs ice time for certain guys. Tatar can't play only 11 minutes.
-
Nobody on this team can carry the puck effectively through the neutral zone except Z and Pavel.
-
How has Tatar played only ten minutes? Him and Sheahan have been the best forwards easily. Babs is lost.
-
Selanne has never done anything wrong in his career. Still think he's an overhyped tool. Here's the Wings chance to get even. Can't go much worse than the previous PP's tonight.
-
Hang on to your stick, Perry.
-
Sheahan and Tatar again coming close. Just tough to score with essentially three checking lines.
-
Very fortunate to come out of that PK only down a goal still. Ice in Anaheim is a joke like always. Gonna have to scrap for an ugly goal.
-
Not a huge fan of cross-checks to the face, but totally acceptable there given the receiver. Tell Perry he's gonna get it.
-
Sheahan and Tatar do something positive on nearly every shift together. Plenty of scoring chances, but need to bury one soon.
-
Good shot, Sammy. You didn't see those two players right in the shooing lane?
-
I mean relative to Cleary he can skate. Not sure how exactly Bertuzzi's size is helping on the PP, though. He doesn't really have a knack for redirecting pucks at all.
-
Agreed, but Bertuzzi out there too is just as laughable at this point.
