Wings have been playing well since the end of the second and Jimmy Howard has completely wrecked their chance to win. Control the play and Nashville comes down the ice for two shifts and it ends up in the net both times. The forwards have been working hard and Howard can't make a single save.

Why did Jimmy play that puck to no one when the Wings needed a change? Four very bad goals tonight. Monster should start the Winter Classic.

Nice energy shifts at the end there. Babs just needs to stick with some lines and let them work together for more than a period.

His lines are a complete joke. Tatar gets one period as a first liner? Why even keep Jurco up if Babs is going to throw him on the fourth line? It has to be absolutely demoralizing sometimes being a young player in this organization with Babs and Holland around.

Jimmy can't stop anything. Why did Babs mess up the lines too? He has done a terrible job this season with line management. Tatar down to the third line, Jurco to the fourth and for what reason? He promotes Abby and Cleary to the top-six. That's frickin insanity.

Pavel out there now with Abby and Bertuzzi? One is fine, but I hate both. Pav needs some actual skill on his wing like Tatar and Jurco provide. Babs is obsessed with keeping Abby in the top-six when he is much more suitable and effective as a third liner with Helm.

Monster clutch at the end. Wasn't the prettiest performance, but right now the Red Wings just need wins any way possible. Z's presence offensively made a huge impact.

Kindl is back because of E's injury, but I agree with the premise. Call up Almquist or Ouellet and get Quincey in the press box. He's a liability in every sense.

Samuelsson is stealing money, but at least he isn't hurting the Red Wings in the process now. Quincey is robbing the team with that contract and his complete inability to do anything positive.

I know it isn't deemed possible here, but Cleary has actually had a nice game tonight.

Gotta clean up the turnovers when playing with a lead. Happens with young players, but bad giveaways by Jurco and Nyquist led directly to two goals. Monster probably needs to make that save though, even with traffic.

Gus! That's a really good third line even though I would prefer Nyquist somewhere in the top-six. Let's try and hold this two-goal lead now.

It's not hate. This has been an issue with Babs for awhile now. He's beyond stubborn with some players getting undeserved minutes, but won't promote two offensive playmakers on a team that struggles to score goals. Nyquist on the fourth line is embarrassing.

Can't score goals, so Tatar and Nyquist play in the bottom-six. Gotta love Babs insistence to have a "net-front presence" on every line.

Unreal. Just get DeKeyser back and E is out again. I said it in the GDT last night, but the loss of any one of Kronwall, E or DeKeyser is a major blow to the defense. There's hardly any quality depth back there beyond those three. More minutes for Quincey and Kindl against a very tough January schedule is not ideal. -
Oh for sure. It's mind-boggling how many poor starts (especially at home) the Wings have, given how much Babs preaches it.
