The Joe is a nightmare. Thankfully no games there now until January 18th. Can't wait to see Z on Saturday.

Wings are buzzing, but this is why you start on time as Babs says. Tough to get out of a three goal deficit when you already struggle to find the net.

Defense is thin to begin with, but not having one of Kronwall, E or DeKeyser is really bad. Definitely need a top-four player that can move the puck next summer.

Quincey and Smith have been awful together as a pairing from day one and yet Babs continues to stick with them. It's honestly ridiculous and I think Smith's development is being hampered by being anchored with Quincey. Put DeKeyser with Smith and keep Kindl and Lashoff together. Quincey should be a healthy scratch permanently. He's absolutely the worst player on the team.

Shootout win! Broke the OT and SO streaks in consecutive games. Two nice wins and some healthy bodies coming back. Loved Sheahan, Jurco and Tatar tonight. -

Sheahan is relentless on the forecheck. That line with Tatar and Jurco was unbelievable in the third. Amazing what speed and young legs can do. -

Only the Wings get goals disallowed from refs losing sight of the puck. This league has an agenda and they don't do a very good job disguising it anymore. -

What made Babs think going back to the Quincey/Smith pairing was a good idea? Been on the ice for both goals against. Completely unnecessary with DeKeyser back. Play him with Smith and bury Quincey with Lashoff. -

I think Jurco will be another case of first line minutes in Grand Rapids vs. fourth line minutes with the Red Wings. Because I don't think Jurco plays in the top-six with everyone healthy. I expect Jurco to return to Grand Rapids and I'm actually content with that. He can develop more and maybe have a permanent spot next season with veterans off the books. -
I would be alright with those line combinations. Bertuzzi creates space for the Euro-Twins, but I'm not a huge fan of him getting first line minutes anymore. Babcock loves having a big body for puck retrieval on each line, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Bertuzzi playing up there. Personally, I would try this: Z - Pav - Alfie Mule - Helm - Nyquist (line was on fire before injuries) Abby - Andersson - Tatar Miller - Glendening - Eaves/Tootoo

Tough news, but hopefully Weiss gets healthy to help the Red Wings for the stretch run and playoffs. Have to wonder if this means Z and Pavel on separate lines once again when Z gets back. Helm was really coming on offensively, so maybe he's not as out of place as a second line center if you want to keep the Euro-Twins together. Andersson is slow, but works well with speedy wingers (maybe Abby and Tatar) on the third line.

Well done! Alfie has a bomb. What a game for Datsyuk. Such a relief to break the losing streak and OT struggles and the Red Wings worked so hard tonight for those two points. Very proud of these guys for battling in tough circumstances. Feels great to win again!

My goodness, they call hooking no matter what but Butler gets ten cross-checks in and nothing. Props to the crowd tonight too. Loudest the Joe has sounded since last spring.

On the fourth line with Sheahan and Tootoo now. Hasn't played a ton, but that line has had some effective shifts.

Haha, wow. How do your feet go out when you get "hooked" at the waist? That's pure garbage officiating.

Jurco is slick with the puck. Nice hustle by Tootoo on that shift as well -- his speed created the pressure.
