Good thinking Babs. Weiss stinks on the top line, so replace him with Cleary.

This team needs 82 road games. They don't do anything at home that has made them successful on the road. Haven't been able to protect a lead whatsoever at JLA.

You knew the Wings were going to get the next penalty minimum. Not that Weiss wasn't guilty, but just the standard of NHL officiating. That's why the Red Wings needed to do more with all of those PP chances.

Scott Hartnell is such a tool. Finest moment of his career was getting beat down by Jiri Fischer. Gotta take advantage of the Flyers unraveling like usual.

Quincey took the penalty, but all of that resulted from Samuelsson being completely incompetent at anything hockey related.

Maybe nagging injuries, but Z has hardly missed any time the past few years. 80, 82 and 46 (of 48) games played the past three seasons. All of that with the lingering back issues too, which fortunately hadn't really hampered him significantly until now. -

Wonderful news. Team finally gets rolling some, Z is having a huge season and this happens. Plus no Pavel and DeKeyser too. As others have stated, Stephen Weiss has to start producing now. -
Nyquist could have been up the entire season without Cleary and I think even six games of evidence has proven Nyquist could handle the minutes. Hell, I would definitely argue that all of Eaves, Tootoo and Glendening in Grand Rapids are better options. This isn't just a case of "anyone would be better than Cleary." It's absolutely true given the abundance of forwards in the organization back in September and still today.

You know things have been really bad when Cleary is getting outplayed by Samuelsson. And Samuelsson has been his normal truly useless self.

The Wings have absolutely no roster or cap space. You can't just magically sign a tough guy for one game to go after Cowen. While I'm not defending the situation Holland has placed the team under, the circumstances don't lend themselves to getting "tougher" against Ottawa.

This team is beautiful to watch when they are on. The skill and passing tonight is exceptional.

Z! Nice redemption for Gus at least to set him up. Franzen looks terrific tonight. He's a huge threat when he drives the net and plays in the center of the ice.

Abby looks great lately. The bottom-six still brings nothing, though. It would be huge to get Weiss going and then have Helm/Abby slide down to the third line.

Second PP unit is horrid. They can't even figure out entry into the zone.

Smith has great offensive instincts. Since returning, he has really showed that more and that was a huge part of his game coming up. Would love to see him get some PP time. None of the other d-men can get anything on net.

Franzen takes some really bad penalties. Feels like the Wings are on a constant PK this season.

Cleary was up with Pav to "get going", but Babs gives Cleary and Sammy as linemates again? Weiss was actually coming on before the injury too, so it's not like Cleary who has shown nothing the entire season. I just don't understand Babs logic with the lines this season. Constant juggling and some truly awful combinations.
