These are the type of contracts where Holland does his best work. He is really good at keeping valuable players of the organization around long-term on deals that are typically pretty cap friendly. E has developed into a very steady and reliable d-man. Right now, the Red Wings defense is in shambles, but the future looks bright. Kronner, E, DeKeyser, Smith all here plus promising prospects coming like Ouellet, Sproul and maybe Almqvist. Not sure where Kindl falls, but Quincey has no place after this season.

No, but there was a reason he was let go for nothing the first time around. It was an awful move -- especially for the price.

That's why the call on Helm is such a joke. An actual penalty occurs and you already hurt a team by having a weak one previously to even it up.

It's funny because you knew the Wings would get a weak call. Yet, they can have games with six PP's against and never get the same treatment. The Senators deserve the calls they have gotten and more. NHL refs always have to even things up. Oh, Kyle Quincey is the worst player in hockey. What a terrible acquisition.

It's amazing how pitifully bad Quincey and Cleary are tonight compared to their teammates. Everyone else looks pretty good and those two are just downright awful.

Actually a really good period and they are still losing. Controlled play, but the defense is atrocious. Losing DeKeyser is a massive blow because Quincey and Kindl playing larger roles will not lead to more team success. Kyle Quincey is going to be -100 by the Olympic Break. Desperately need a top-four defenseman that can move the puck.
