Oh really? What has Nabby ever done that would allow one to question his mental toughness? -

People said the same thing about Hull, Yzerman, Ray B, Pronger, ect. It's one of the most ridiculous remarks you can make. -
So now what's up with the fire sale?

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

Wow, this is really starting to get weird. We agree, again. No way Bell would help the Wings out. He is a cancer. I'd rather sign Yannic Perreualt (sp?). -

Yeah, a 4th liner. That's where he spent a good amount of time in SJ. And if he were a Wing, no way he is a 2nd liner, and the 3rd line is pretty set. So where does that leave him? That's right, 4th line. -
Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

Bell is one of those guys that seems to be followed by trouble no matter where he goes. And the Wings don't need any more 3rd/4th line guys. They have enough of those as is. -
I don't think this was the best move for Nashville to make. But in their eyes, they just want to cut payroll. Appearently at any cost. I think they got exactly what they wanted out of this deal - they lose a big contract, and don't commited to anyone in return. They got some solid picks. Florida is perrenially at the bottom of the league, which translates into top of the draft.
-
I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I think it's differnt. You don't. At this point, any more discussion on the matter is the beating of a dead horse.
-
Anyone can still sign them as of July 1st.
-
I thought that went down yesterday? Hmm...maybe it was just a rumor I heard.
-
I'd think he is someone Kenny would make a call to, and see what type of loot is is asking. Say @ something around $2.5 he'd be a worthwhile signing. He would play very well with Pav.

You missed what I was saying. ( I was the one who said my opinion of Shanny is fueled by others of Fedorov) I don't like how Shanny left. I don't repect that he felt it was time to move on. I don't care that the Wings were able to overcome his loss. The way Fedorov is treated and spoken of simply adds to this. Fedorov left for less cash because he didn't want to deal with Stevie any longer. Now, I'm not saying this is Stevie's fault, or that Fedorov was right for this. But there was no secret about it. Stevie and Sergei didn't get along. Who's gunna be made out to be the bad guy in every situation there? Sergei knew this. Add in that he wanted to be THE guy, and he would not have been here. Which he was also clear about, and that's why he left. Yet people here boo him at the Joe. That is beyond classless. Shanny left without really saying why. In later reports he claims he wanted to play a bigger role than he would have. And I've read several reports that he thought he should wear the 'C'. As I said before, just because he showed come class in not complaining to the press about this, doesn't make his leaving any more classy. I think it was a worse way to leave than Sergei did. The only reason why Sergei gets so much more ill will sent his way is because he was in his prime when he left. Odds are with the cap being instated Sergei would have been delt anyhow. I won't argue that paying him $6 per is too much. But no matter what anyone says, the guys is incedible, and has an unmatched talent and ability to play the game at both ends of the rink. Does he use this all the time? No. But it's there. No one can deny that. He is simply the most skilled two way player in the league. He just doesn't have the desire, or heart to put in what it would take to play at the level he is capeable of, night in and night out.

It could just be me, but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of moves this close to the draft. I can't remember a season when draft day was this jam packed with moves. Both signing key UFA's and trades makes me wonder, why so much this year? Thoughts?
-
That's what really bites me in the ass. Especially here in the Metro Detroit area, where there aren't any good jobs. To see the players whine about not getting enough to play a game. And the owners crying about each other spending too much. Remember it's us little people who shell out the money to make this all possible. I know people who spent a half of a months salary to go watch one playoff game. That's nuts.

Has the offical buyout of Yashin gone through yet? If not, I'd make a call to Nashville if I am Garth Snow. Never hurts to ask, right? LOL
-
Yup, just like he did after Stevens light him up in that same SCF. Or wait, I think he did come back and score a pretty huge goal... Just because someone doen't get into the physcial stuff doesn't mean he is a *****. He isn't that type of player. How often do you see Pav get in someones face? Exactly, you don't. It isn't his game. Same with Karyia.
-
Oh, that's right, Karyia has never led his team to the SCF or anything. He has no heart, and no talent. He is a bum.
-
Belfour is a UFA.
-
Yeah, so we might as well trade Dats, Rex, Flip, Draper....
-
You gotta think that Toskala isn't happy with this move. He has stated in the past that he wants to be a starter. In Toronto, he will have to steal the job from Raycroft. Gotta feel for the guy. He has yet to get a legit shot at being a starter, and he has all the tools.
-
Well, if Kenny is intrested in any of the UFA's that are left, for example, Karyia, he might be able to swing something like a 3rd rounder for his rights. Outside from something of that nature, I don't see anything Kenny would be intrested in. And that would be a far fetched deal, IMO.
-
TSN says it was for a first and two second round picks.
-
I have a hard time seeing this deal going through for just picks, that is unless it's a 1st round pick going back to Nashville. They do have an extra one from the Bert deal. Gotta give it up to the GM in Florida if this goes through. Tommy is no Luongo, but he is pretty solid in his own right.
-
I was thinking the same thing. I fear that the NHL will soon turn into the NFL in that the trade deadline will pass without much excitment. The offseason would then become where teams addressed needs.
