This team is loaded with Western Conference players. I wonder if that's because Stevie and Babcock are more familiar with them.

I had the feeling from Babcock's comments ("He (Pavel) was real optimistic here today.") that Pav wanted to play, but they wouldn't let him.

NHL Home Ice (XM) is reporting that Sammy is sick.

I have a hard time believing that Babcock would put him out there for the 3rd period if it was anything serious...well, at least I hope.

The Sharks don't get mentioned in that conversation because it is obvious that you don't want to play them. The other teams mentioned are less obvious.

I went to the hotel that the Wings were staying at, in St. Paul, 3 years ago. Henrik Zetterberg was walking through the the lobby on his cell phone. As he walks by me, I asked him for an autograph. He shook his head no and kept walking.

Has anyone seen Hank outside of an arena without his cell phone to his ear? I swear that sometimes he has it out, even without a person on the other line, just so people will leave him alone.

I'm on Cox in Omaha, and it's not listed on my CI either. I have seen, in other places, that it is supposed to be on the NHL Network.

The first couple of months of the regular season usually go on sale in mid Sept.

I live in Nebraska now but made it back for Round 1, Game 5. I plan on being there for a SCF game, if we make it...but I'm not bitching about lack of attendance. I understand not being able to afford it.

The schedule does not show the Wings game on Center Ice tonight, but that might change if the early game goes late.

Sammy is Babcock's 3rd man playing the point on the power play right now. There is no way he sits game 2. Sadly enough I think Huds will be the odd man out.

I am going to have to figure out something new...nothing has worked for the last few years. What ever I come up with on Thursday will be back on Sunday, if the Wings win.

That would make a nice Comerica sandwich. Parking and traffic would be a concern, if there were 2 game on the same day. I'm sure I wouldn't mind if the Tigers were playing in October or the Wings were playing in June though.

The thing that bothers me the most about Lang is that I like the guy...he's a great talent. He just takes shifts off, and he gives up to easily. He doesn't go 100% the whole time. I'm sure no one will disagree with that. When you do your perspective make sure you pay attention to the effort he gives on the forecheck. Compare it to Draper, Filppula, Datsyuk, Cleary and Calder. Also pay attention to what he does just after he loses the puck. I do agree that he isn't a terrible player, he did have a better game on Sunday and this topic has been wore out.

I couldn't agree more...no fire. He gives up on almost every play. If the puck gets knocked off his stick, he just quits. He doesn't try to get it back.
