Needless to say I started spazzing right there in Micky Ds. If Hossa really wants to stay, he can stay. I believe in Ken Holland, but he will need to use a lot of his magic dust to keep Hossa and Franzen.

He doesn't stink. He's been playing on the third line with no power play time. I don't think Holland would just sign Filppula to a 5 year deal randomly. Holland knows more than us, and he won't make a knee jerk move just because Filppula has one bad year. There is a snowballs chance in hell that Filppula is traded. I have high hopes for Leino. I hope he plays in the playoffs... it would be interesting to see how he does.

There is a very good possibility that we don't sign both. This is a good thread... so instead of justifying why we can sign both or one, why not follow the OPs directions and post a Wings line up without Hossa and Franzen. We have many threads about Hossa and Franzen, please don't let those spill into this one. Hudler - Flip - Leino I agree with others in liking this second line. I think it has a lot of potential. Maybe we could get Filppula to screen some goalie? We could use the extra dough to sign a solid goalie or maybe a fairly decent defenseman.

It does feel weird doesn't it... what's odd is we have the same winning percentage as last year!

This bodes well for us. (enlighting eh?) Home ice in a series against the Sharks would help us a lot, and that's because they are unbelievable at home. We need to keep winning, and they need to keep losing. I think we are 4-5 points behind them, but they have 2 games in hand.

"God" McLellan ran our offense, which has improved... so yes, his absence has had an effect on our game.

I would like to see Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom again. (when Homer comes back) That way we have a go to defensive line that we can match up against the other teams top line, and it would allow Hossa and Franzen to light it up. (more) I know the offense is fine, it's for the defense I would make these changes. After all the line of Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom killed the league last year. Datsyuk was a +41. Thoughts?

Don't worry too much fellas. If Kopecky doesn't drastically improve and he's still playing come playoff time, hell will have frozen over. Babcock knows what players like Helm and Leino bring.

I like the idea. We should at least test that line before the playoffs. Well, we know Zetterberg and Datsyuk will work, I just want to see how the second line goes... what if it's dynamite? Zetterberg Datsyuk Holmstrom Hudler Franzen Hossa Plus we get the best shut down line back in Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Perhaps our defense improves?

I can't believe Turco tripped up Holmstrom, then Holmstrom was pushed into Turco and we get INCEDENTAL CONTACT?!?! COP OUT! It's either interference or a good goal, you can't go half way! The fact that they did shows that it was a good goal!
