I think I need someone to enlighten me. When was the 'exception' rule made? The one that states if the injured player attends the festivities he is exempt from the suspension. I would like a link if it's not too much trouble, because many people (around the web) are saying it has been in place since the meeting that the GMs had. I don't know what to believe. If the 'exception' was as recent as some people are saying, then there is a problem. The Wings should ignore this, just keep doing the same thing they have done for the past ~15 years.

Because he is worth more then Datsyuk was when he signed his contract, and 6.7 was a larger percent of the cap way back then.

The problem with 10 years is you don't want to be spending 7 million + on a 38 year old forward. A 5 year 7 million deal would make me verrrrrrrryyyyy happy.

Ozzy failed his test, and I think he lost a lot of trust from Babcock. It hurts me to say this, but I really think we would have at least made OT with Conklin. Ozzy needs to do somthing or else Conks will be #1 come playoffs. Now to the other problem... how many shots did we give up? I don't care if it's San Jose or LA, we need to tighten up on D. As for the game... it's good to know our offense scored 5 goals, but our D/goaltending was not solid and the refs did not help either. It was a fun game to watch.

Exactly. Every one of them can take the game on there back, and I think we've seen Franzen do this a bit too. I still worry about SJ, if we are lucky some random team will eliminate them before they meet us. (barring no random team eliminates us)
