I honestly don't remember the boards going this crazy in febuary of last year. Some of you forget that they are in fact the Red Wings... the same team that just made the playoffs 17 years strait, the same team that just put up 3 strait 50 win seasons, and the same team that consistently grabs the regular season by the haunches and humps it into submission. The Wings will sort out what ever problem they have, there's no reason to freak out.

So far Z has been the only one to really and I mean really capitolize on Datsyuks unpredictable nature. I think it will take Hossa a few/many games until he can really get in on it, but once he does... oh it will be beautiful. As for Crosbaby and his crayons... No, in all seriousness I believe he will have a career high somewhere around 130 points, but if he truly wants to become a better player (which i'm sure he does) he will pull a Stevie Y and his defensive game will improve. My thoughts... not yours.

Looks like the Wings are picking up right where they left off. Although it is just a pre-season game.

Not if Datsyuk and Zetterberg are on the same line, which i'm fairly sure will happen once or twice in the season.

It'd be funny if the two best lines at the end of the year were our top two lines. ("funny" can be taken as "awesome") I'd say the Dats and Hossa line if they stay together. And I don't think we should call the second line a "second line", I think 1b would better.

I agree with you man. But you have to understand the average hockey fan watching Lidstrom will have a lot more fun watching Ovechkin and Crosby. Lidstroms game is a lot more deep than theres, and a lot more impressive if you watch it for many years.

Here is a one-liner that I feel discribes our off-season. "Yes, we can have our cake and eat it too."

One thing that seperates the Wings from other recent Stanley Cup champs is that we have guys who have done it before. It helps when your captian know what it takes. And don't compare the Wings to the Ducks from last year ... there Captian watched his team struggle for half a season until he decided to do anything about it. No chance in hell would Lidstrom ever do that.

Who doesn't want an experienced vet showing the new guys how it's done? Besides, even if we didn't sign Chelios, Ericsson would probably spend most of his time in GR anyways.

Well we know someone is going to over pay for him. What's the compensation again? A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd I believe?

To be honest i'd like to see Lilja go. He seems to take stupid penalties, and apart from his pk ability there isn't much he can offer you. That said I won't lose sleep if one of Lebda/Meech goes. I'd like to keep Quincy though.
