Devellano says Wings close to signing Bertuzzi
RedWingedKitten replied to WingMachine91's topic in General
For the right price this would be a very good depth signing. He put up 44 points last season in 66 games. (Calgary Flames) I'm on board. Edit - Anaheim is still paying him 1.33 million dollars lol. Nice one Burke. -
That is so far from our style... although the idea interests me. I'm sure the team will be able to help Howard out a bit. Lidstrom - Rafalski Kronwall - Stuart Ericsson - Lilja/Lebda Hopefully Howards presence will make the team defense play better. (in the regular season)

It's August, and I want to know how you think your Detroit Red Wings will do in 2009/2010. I will give you my thoughts first. The Offense -Will not be as potent as it was in 2009. -Much younger which will be good and bad. The Defense -On paper it looks unbreakable, but will it play that way? -Should have no problem feeding our forwards passes. -A full season of Ericsson is exciting! I'm hoping for the regular season to be much like 2008... top 5 offense with an amazing defense. I think if the team is motivated it should finish... 1st overall As for the playoffs I feel surprisingly calm. Who will beat us in the West? Chicago? San Jose? I am not so sure. I am sure that it the Wings stay healthy they will be damn hard to beat.

Time to MAN UP: Williams or Samuelsson?
RedWingedKitten replied to blues_demitra38's topic in General
I agree with this fellow. Williams is just for one year, so there is no risk. -
In my opinion, as long is Lidstrom is here, we are not rebuilding.

D snd Z are like the peanut butter and jelly, they're better together. I want Z to hit 40G, and 50A too.
-
That's what you can expect.

NHL'S Top 10 most likely breakout players
RedWingedKitten replied to tommingthepuck96's topic in General
I think he has shown many glimpses of what he can do... much like two other Europeans who once showed flashes of brilliance. -
If we could get him for 1.5 million sure. It's not like we're going to get Kessel.
-
I never questiong anything Holland does, or does not do. I'm sure were going to have a great season!
-
I hope Holland gets him. No more than 2 million though. Lets go Holland!

Have a great one Pasha!

Wings will re-sign Leino to a 2-year deal
RedWingedKitten replied to Hey Hey Hockeytown!'s topic in General
The Canucks signed Sammy to a three year deal. NOW WHO ARE WE GOING TO IRRATIONALLY BLAME FOR EVERY LOSS?!?!?!!? Jk, best of luck to sammy, maybe they will play him with the Sedin twins! Source - http://canucks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=p...rticleid=433410 I would be really happy signing Leino and Hudler. -
Hossa would have to take another one year deal. He needs to settle down.
-
That's a very good signing for Calgary. I look forward to playing them. They do seem to be sticking out of the NW, don't they? But don't jump the gun... they havn't exactly done much in the past. Last four seasons --> Lost in Conference Quarterfinals, 3–4 (Mighty Ducks) Lost in Conference Quarterfinals, 2–4 (Red Wings) Lost in Conference Quarterfinals, 3–4 (Sharks) Lost in Conference Quarterfinals, 2–4 (Blackhawks)

GM: Wings did shopping during season......
RedWingedKitten replied to HudlerFanatic's topic in General
Imagine if we went into 09 with the cup winning team from 08, then added a 40 goal winger at the deadline! We would have done soooooooo much better. [/sarcasm] Holland has been perfect these last few years. We lost the SCF because our 290 goal offense could not score more than 2 goals in 2 games. I read this on another board - 8 months of "Osgood will let the team down", and one week of the team letting Osgood down. We have a great roster right now. Probably the best D in the league, and a verrry potent offense. Holland works with paper, Babcock works with players. (both have done a damn good job) -
This game was fun. I also loved Clearys game 7 goal. Revenge is soooooooooooo sweet. Oh, and knowing that Crosby gets to face Prongers elbows six times next season makes me feel better inside.

Trade Rumor: Osgood and Holmstrom to Flames
RedWingedKitten replied to King Octopus9's topic in General
Why not? Calgary would never do this deal. -
5'8"? 160 pounds? European? He's ours.
-
I'm fine moving down three picks for an extra 3rd. Remember, Franzen was a 3rd rounder.
-
Wings Trade thier first round pick to Tampa
RedWingedKitten replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
We do better drafting later anyway. Franzen was a third rounder iirc. -
7 year deal 7 million age 31 6.5 million age 32 5 million age 33 4 million age 34 3 million age 35 2.5 million age 36 2 million age 37 Cap hit 4.3 I think he would be paid fairly in this deal, and it would work with the Wings. The NHL would definitly not reject this deal either.

You don't replace a guy like Samuelsson for 1.2 million. I'm going to miss him if he is in fact gone.
-
Come on babs put Z and Dats back together!
RedWingedKitten replied to 13dangledangle's topic in General
Some of you really need to factor in the cap. If you put Hossa in somewhere, you need to take someone out. I value Franzen > Hossa, but I have a hard time seeing him sign for four million a year. That being said, we do have Ken Holland running this, and that makes me feel much better about this whole situation. And yes, Babcock should put Z man and D on the same line in 2010... that line lead us to a cup in 08. -
In 97 the Russian Five was the second line. (if you can call it that) The salary cap will stop any teams like the 97-02 Wings from ever being assembled again. Lets go Red Wings!
