I fell asleep before the game, but hearing that Franzen scored is awesome news today! That's what I was hoping for, seeing Mule get hot again. I've been wearing my "Feed The Mule" shirt every game day and rooting for him. It was funny, I went kayaking and camping up at the lake Tuesday and when I got there I pulled down towards the shore and there was a wild burro laying in the road. I was like "What up Johan!". I got a picture of him, then he slipped away with his buddy, who I got a pic of too. Anyway, I like that I saw that burro chilling there; like a premonition of the Mule heating up again!! I'm kind of glad we lost one; I didn't think we'd sweep this Pitt team so we got a loss out of the way and it wasn't a big lopsided score or shutout that they could build on. Also, I didn't want the Wings to get them in a 3-0 series lead since there's all this "33 year comeback" nonsense around this year and that would be s***ty to lose the cup that way, especially since the '42 Wings gave it up before. I feel a lot better going into a game 4 in Pitt now. The boys will have had a couple or 3 days to settle in on the road, Babs will be able to adjust to the environment going forward, and who knows....maybe Mule will get another signature playoff hat-trick! Hopefully Lilja and Stewie will bounce back and have an awesome game and we can get these punks on the ropes going back to Detroit. I don't like Homer being injured, but here's hoping he's okay and is in the lineup.

I heard they were taking out LaCock and that's why we probably wouldn't be needing McCarty.

I'm stuck working Monday night too. I will be hoping for a good webcast from somewhere, no versus here at work. Anyone else realize that Monday night / Tuesday morning is the full moon? I would rather they just review s*** like this and get it right. I mean, when it's an important goal like a "first blood" goal or a gamewinner and the call is blown sooo obviously bad there should be a review and the correct call should be made. Even if it goes against the Wings, I might be pissed that it happened, but I'm a lot less pissed off than when something horrible like this happens and they get STRIPPED of a legitimate goal that could have set the tone of the game and worked to crush the Stars come-back hopes. Now we have to crush their throats with the Detroit boot heel in Game 5 (provided we don't have to play the refs again as well this game). And yeah, let me cast my vote for the "Buttman is a mental dwarf, run him out on a rail" movement as well. Go WINGS! Bring the cup home to Hockeytown!

Hell yeah Mule, get back in on the scoring fun soon! We miss you! I think Cleary is playing with great hop and he seems to be charging into every situation with reckless abandon! Good to see him show so much hustle every shift, good things will be happening for him and all our gladiators out there.

Franzen is going to skate out wearing a red horned viking helmet and beat Robeiro's ass then score a hat trick. He just probably got brain freeze from scoring goals too fast.

A prolonged Dallas/San Jose series is good for getting Chelios and Maltby healthy (and any other injuries rested), but what about the extra tape that coaches will be able to analyze of the opposition? Not just more opportunities for them to get ground down with more wear-n-tear, but also more opportunities for our staff to spot any weaknesses they might have and ways to exploit it. I'm with the "don't pick your poison" crowd when it comes to hoping for one team or the other to win, but I do think an extended series between them is beneficial for the Wings.

Yeah, we've got too many sappers in the ranks! I believe in Big Bert and he's a welcome addition to the team. Bertuzzi is doing fine and will just get better and better as he feels more comfortable. If you are a Wings fan you aren't helping him any by criticizing him during the post-season. You are not Scotty, we don't care about your amateur critiques. I hope Todd scores again in Game Six, just to shut you whiners up. Great win tonight, the winged wheel is rolling baby! Keep it going!
