Lidstrom and Osgood, do they get their numbers retired?
omnipotent_hudler replied to SFwingsfan's topic in General
ozzie's number should at the very least be discontinued for a couple of decades if not retired he's been a big part of every cup besides '02 and a big part of some of the earlier runs in the 90's -
yeah cbc shows it too and generally has better coverage last year they fed it up and we knew the awards before they ran the coverage
-
if you make this happen I will love you forever whether or not that encourages you or discourages you is another matter

I've heard rumors buzzing around that Hakaan Andersson and Ken Holland played up Brunnstrom big time in order to get any potential attention off of this guy. It did seem a little odd to me how andersson was talking the guy up so much, but whatever. In general the Wings don't sign players unless they think they can make a difference. Grigs was an entirely different deal, a draft choice that the Wings knew wasn't panning out very well but they had invested enough into him that they decided to give him a chance before dropping him.

get the cup on The Colbert Report o jesus Hudler on the Colbert Report would be hilarious Colbert does have the whole minor league hockey thing going~

someone please talk me out of going out to buy a replica kronner jersey with the scf patch on it I really shouldn't

Eva you're right about Orpik but in this league average D-man get paid outrageous amounts
-
you also have guys like Filp who move faster than expected. Ericsson looked fantastic in his stint up with us this year Although I agree there's a good chance that Meech will be D #7 while Ericsson spends one more year in GR, I just really think he'll add some physical presence to our blue line and make it even better e: either Lebda, Meech, or Quincy will be gone by next year. Good chance that'll be two of em too.

If I was a betting man I'd say Stuart will sign in Detroit for $3.8 million a year for 4 years before July 1. Campbell is going to get an absurd amount of money this offseason so I wouldn't really be interested in him if I was a Philly fan. Actually scratch that, any D-man who hits free agency in this league gets grossly over payed. I was going to say Redden but the Panthers are probably going to give him 9 mil a year hahahahahaha

yeah, I'm leavin him out because I don't really think he has a place on this defensive corps anymore. 7th d-man I guess maybe

there is no such thing as impartial media hope this helps -
envisioning this guy eventually playing on a line with Filpulla how 'bout two Euro duo's on one team eh?

eh people are adding in way too much to a team that just proved to be pretty fing dominant in this post season. I wouldn't change too much to be honest. in the offseason, Re negotiate Z's contract Offer Stuart a max of 4 mil Re negotiate Franzen's contract lock Babcock and his assistants up This team is loaded with prospects, and by the trade deadline we'll know our needs to the point that we can afford to trade them away if we need to. A bright spot I think people are forgetting is that Kopecky was really starting to shine right before he got injured. This could very well be a break out season for him and Helm. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Franzen-Filpulla-Samuelson Cleary-Draper-Hudler Leino-Helm-Kopecky Maltby/McCarty That RW spot on the second line could very will be taken by Hudler/Leino/Kopecky depending on how they play as well. Lidstrom-Rafalski Stuart-Kronwall Lilja-Ericsson Lebda/Meech I wouldn't mind looking into D. Markov if Stuart falls through(though obviously he's not worth $4 million)

roster speculation itt Datsyuk-Zetterbeg-Holmstrom Franzen-Filppula- Samuelson Cleary-Draper- Hudler Leino- Helm- Kopecky Maltby/McCarty Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Lebda
