The "NHL is Messed Up Because..."
omnipotent_hudler replied to Lovin Jiri Fischer's topic in General
I'm still baffled as to how both benches ended up on the same side of the rink edit: more about hockey in general, really -
Normally I'd agree with you but in this case I love that a Russian is able to show some real emotion.

Simple poll.

In the next 50 years: The Wings will only win 1 cup due to parity and horrible management after Illitch Both major political parties will split, the Democrats will split across DLC/DNC loyalties and the Republicans will split across Fiscal and Social Conservative lines. Russia is going to invade somebody real soon Major electoral reform in the United States making 3rd parties viable

Oh you're right I forgot that success in the AHL always and I mean always equals success in the NHL right .....

2 minutes ice time= 20,000 sold seats is the only logic i can really see for this at all.

It's great that he's impressed enough to stay up as long as he has. He'll be a top 4 defenseman in a couple of years without a doubt.

You know it's a bad sign for your franchise when a move is being made that uses the prospect of your team actually winning the Stanley cup as a "wow factor"

WTF: San Jose scores GWG off protective netting
omnipotent_hudler replied to Matt's topic in General
Yeah, we're playing pretty poorly though and although I'll be happy if we win I don't really think we deserve this one. Unfortunately it generally takes monstrous screw ups for this league to wake up to problems that it has. -

We weren't really going to win that game anyways, hopefully this causes the league to take a closer look at the rules though. -
Wow, Quincey goes down over Ericsson, they must really be high on this kid.

The biggest question will be whether or not this team can score in the playoffs. Let's not kid ourselves; the defense will be fine. And I'm pretty stoked about injecting Stuart into the defensive corps. So I think we can stop worrying about that. If, however, this team can't regain the scoring touch that it had at the beginning of the season, then I think it will be perfectly legitimate for us to question why Holland didn't bring in Fedorov. Hossa, Richards... the price was too high for these guys. But Fedorov went for very little. I wasn't a fan of bringing him back either, and I'm happy that we didn't- but if we lose games in the playoffs due to our inability to score, then Holland will have some questions to answer.

hahaha no, no. no he does not get the money. wow Edit: YOU MEAN SOMETIMES TEAMS DONT GET PLAYERS AT THE DEADLINE? OH GOD WHY I HAVE I WASTED MY DAY STARING AT MY COMPUTER(because you are stupid)
-
we're not getting Hossa, Holland has already told us as much, why are we going on about this?
-
Detroits not in the west though right

As soon as you get over the fact that 99% of people are going to gloss over your WALL OF TEXT

2 reasons why Fedorov and McCarty will become Wings
omnipotent_hudler replied to The Enforcer's topic in General
This is an astouding argument that has never been brought up before! Look, Illitch isn't stressing for money. He'll put the best team on the ice that he can, not the one that will bring in the most people. -
DIFFERANT

Oh hay is this the thread where we respond to a two sentence OP. I'm seriously laughing at how pissed off everyone is over this mini losing streak. Yeah, it sucks. It sucks hard. But did we really expect we'd go the whole season without a bad losing streak? But, oh, no... my bad. BAG SKATE BAG SKATE LOCKER ROOM SPEECH TRADE X TRADE Y AQUIRE X AQUIRE Y HASEK SUCKS OSGOOD SUCKS PASS SHOOT LESS EUROS MORE EUROS did I cover it?

THN thinks that Tony Lydman and Sergei Fedorov are strong possibilities to end up in Detroit
