You're not going to seriously tell me that malkin deserves in over Savard
-
Yes. We play our 4th line players so sparingly that I don't really see why you wouldn't.
-
If he specifically says he wants to be a rental player then no thanks. No prospects for a >30 game player.
-
I'm looking ahead to the schedule.. Atlanta, Vancouver, San Jose... All are dangerous teams and the last 2 are soaring lately. It isn't unreasonable given detroit's last two performances to expect losses in all 3 of those.

Wings are looking primed for a mid season collapse.
-
Really, let's stop beating around the bush here. we'd rather there be nothing at all

I always lose track of Tennis in between slams, but I'm once again excited... The Australian Open has always been my favorite.
-
Raffi Torres... the most dangerous kind of hockey player. THE MEXICAN KIND edit: oh yeah i'd take him for picks and a weak prospect, just think... we wouldn't have to dress Drake.
-
defending big leads like this is always absurdly difficult, especially when the wings are tired from the back to back. I see a Hawks comeback brewing.. 4 shorthanded goals in the making prove me wrong, Detroit

Sundin has already made a lot of noise about wanting to stay in Toronto... and that if the organization decides to trade him to gain some prospects/picks he would consider allowing the NTC to be waived to "help the organization". All he talks about is helping Toronto. I don't think there's any chance he'd stay with us if he were traded here. I don't want a rental player.

Ken Holland in Sweden looking at some potentials...

You're right, you can take the s***ty ones in the following rounds after the good ones have been taken in the 1st. -
Chicago @ Anaheim Saturday: Washington @ Montreal Detroit @ Dallas Florida @ Pittsburgh New Jersey @ Boston Philadelphia @ Toronto Tampa Bay @ Ottawa Minnesota @ Nashville Carolina @ St Louis NY Islanders @ Colorado Anaheim @ Phoenix NY Rangers @ Edmonton Calgary @ Los Angeles Columbus @ San Jose Sunday: Buffalo @ Atlanta Detroit @ Chicago

Almost feels like a harsher grading scale should be used for this team, as the standard is so absurdly high this year. Grading scales dont mean much if everyone is basically an "A"

Ken Holland in Sweden looking at some potentials...

Seeing as we've had 1 first round draft pick in the last 4 years, this seems like a great idea -
Would you like to place a wager on whether or not he actually returns this week?
-
Anything to get Drake out of the lineup at this point Seeing as he made the most half hearted effort I have ever seen to clear the puck tonight and gave the Blues their first goal. god he's ineffective.
-
If you're right then this will be a rough month. Wings will probably struggle to break .500, the January schedule is brutal. No question either who is more valuable to this team... At least Datsyuk doesn't have a back made out of paper.
-
Is Zetterberg supposed to be back for Jan. 2? I'm so sick of " a few days" turning into a few weeks every time he's injured. Watch, he'll be out till feb

Is Dallas Drake still playing for the Blues or does he just suck at not turning the puck over in our zone?

I might not survive two more years of Lilja

Every team scares me in the playoffs, especially the ones we play in the 1st round but these ones are the ones I fear the most. West Chicago- I can easily see us losing a 5 game series to them if they sneak in that 8th or 7th slot in the 1st round. Vancouver- If this team stays healthy they are a serious threat to us, especially if Luongo gets hot. Worse yet, they have a team that understands our style of play better than most. Dallas- Have been looking very good lately... seems to be some actual chemistry there, and if Turco is hot.. my god. East Ottawa- no explanation needed New York- If the rangers can find chemistry on offense they will have a scary team, especially considering through the first quarter of the season they were one of the strongest teams defensively somehow.

Didn't see a topic on this guy yet... http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/1132...Alfredsson.html The most recent issue of THN speculates that Detroit and Vancouver will be top contenders to sign this guy due to the heavy Swedish influence on those two teams... Anyone happen to know more about this guy? Apparently he is good enough that he's become a well known name with NHL GM's league wide. If we can sign him to a rookie contract, might he eventually develop into a legit second line forward? It seems likely he'd be able to jump into the NHL more quickly with our European style game than with other teams.

Apparently this guy is under contract through next year, and with Sweden pulling its transfer agreement he's probably not going to be over here till 09/10. I'm sure Hakan Andersson is talking to this guy, however... Not to mention lidstrom/zetterberg/kronvall/holmstrom/lilja/samuelsson/franzen... I'd bet he's either going to Detroit or Vancouver in 2 years, unless I'm mistaken in assuming he can only sign a rookie contract(900,000 max) in his first year?
