And apparently the entire point of my post was missed by you. I don't give a s*** that scoring is down in the league, and I especially reject the idea that composite sticks= lower scoring in any case. There are many more factors that are contributing to lower scoring. The question that I asked that you failed to address( although apparently you found time to flame me a bit), is why should the players not be able to use composite sticks? Unless you can prove outright that composite sticks= lower scoring then you have no mandate at all to propose banning composite sticks. That's a choice that needs to be left to the players. period.

So I don't get it. A few retired players prefer wooden sticks, therefore the NHL should ban them? I mean, maybe you prefer wooden sticks... that's cool. But why should any player in the NHL not be able to choose to use a composite?

I'd like the rule that gives a penalty to a player who shoots the puck out of his defensive zone into the crowd changed... Instead of a penalty, it should be like icing is now; a face off in the defensive zone with the defending team unable to change.

Datsyuk has always taken a little bit to get going.. he was slow to start last season too. Good news is hes still a big reason why that first line is clicking, and his Defensive play and passing are as sharp as ever.

Didn't Lids tell some Swedish newspaper he'd play for the league minimum just to stay in the NHL? Obviously he was joking, but I really hope he gives us a discount. Signing Zetterberg is going to break the bank in a couple of years, and we still could use a true right winger or power forward on this team. I'd be ecstatic if he signed somewhere between 5-6 million. I'm expecting 6-7 though.

Crosby is the best player in the league, but he still needs to work on his defensive play. Too many times it takes it easy in his own zone. Once he fixes that he will be scary(as if he wasn't already). That being said, Zetterbergs stock is certainly rising this year. He could end up as one of the top 10 by the end of this year at this rate. I like Zetterberg because he can play defense as well as a defensive specialist but can also score goals. That's a complete player.

He had every chance to prove himself and has yet to show anything beyond having some skill handling the puck. Yet he seems to think that he deserves an NHL spot now. Send him back to Russia. I just want the best team we can ice every night. Every point this early in the season is crucial, and I don't want Grigs touching NHL ice if there is a player who can contribute more to our team than he can. Right now Downey and Ellis are both contributing, while Grigs hasn't been able to contribute at the AHL level.

It's funny cause this is the team a lot of people thought would miss the playoffs this year, obviously its early, but they certainly don't look like they'll end up out of the top 8 right now.
