There is not a single player on this team I would scratch to let Grigs into the lineup.

For some reason I expected Zetterberg to come into room, full equipment and check the guy into the wall at some point during that movie. I am now terribly disappointed.

I did. He kept us in the game. and don't get me wrong, i'm usually the first to defend Hasek, but I'm actually leaning towards having Osgood play in goal because Hasek just looks sloppy as hell out there. My blood is simply boiling here, game should have been 2-0 with the coyotes confidence crushed and now we're playing catch up because the ref is ogling gretzky instead of watching the game. This is why i just cannot stand hockey sometimes. and yet i'm so painfully addicted to it...

That was Datsyukian, the way he dragged the puck pack like that. Little different than the way Crosby embarasses his opponents, but works all the same.

Detroit has always been stingy in the way they retire their numbers... I like that; alot. I think it says something about the organization that the only two players out of all those awesome players from the '90s to the early '00s to be retired will be Lidstrom and Yzerman.

I agree, I don't see him going anywhere. However the rumor is that HE is unhappy with the direction that the team is going, so the it isn't as if the 'Yotes signed him to that contract with the desire of trading him. If anything its that he's unhappy all of a sudden. I can kind of see his position; he's 30 years old and has played for the same team his entire career.. Perhaps hes a bit frustrated by the lack of success. Its all just speculation. I think we're all just salivating at the thought of an actual winger on these team... God, our offense is all centers.. Mr. Bettman, I'm just wondering if you'd care to comment on your impending death. The word is that Chris Chelios has already sent out his assassins(ironically, Russians who were pissed at the idea that Chris Chelios would be stuck in their country). Where will the funeral be held? How will your family cope? In which arena will your corpse be hung from the rafters as a symbol of the resurgence of the NHL? Thanks.

I like Kronvall. I would trade him for Doan. I like Filpulla. I would trade him for Doan. ( Though a deep depression would likely follow. This kid has major potential.) I like Sammy(Oh nos, someone likes Sammy!). I would trade him for Doan. I like Hudler. I would trade him for Doan. Off limits in my mind: Datsyuk. Zetterberg. Holmstrom. There is no reason to trade reliable scoring like these 3 for someone who hasn't yet proved he can fit in our system. For those concerned about trading Kronner... Our defense will be fine. Quincy can take over if Meech sucks, and both Kindl and Ericcson are about a year away from the NHL. If Doan really wanted a trade than Yzerman would have some leverage in bringing him here. I just don't see how the guy would all of a sudden want a trade though.

To be fair, he plays for a god awful hockey team and doesn't get much help in scoring those goals. I would like Doan. But who do we give Phoenix for him? Kronvall? I'd take that trade. Phoenix will not, however. Dat/Zetts? Hell no. Samuelson/Hudler + Pick? Sure, but Phoenix isn't going to take that. It's a pipe dream, nothing more.

There is a quote... someone had it in their sig last year... from either babs or holland I believe talking about how "there is a reason he(Zetterberg) sits next to Yzerman in the lockeroom..." I cannot find it but here's a press article from when Lids was named captain. Zetter has been being groomed for the Captaincy for a while now.

Ducks come out with a fire under their asses, game is tight until the third when the Wings internal clocks wear them down due to how late it would be at home. Ducks: 4(Bertuzzi, Getzlaf, Pronger, Moen) Wings: 2(Lidstrom, Holmstrom)

I think I'll slit my wrist if either of them leaves for free agency or is traded etc in the next few years(unless we get Crosby or Tavares or Jesus on skates in return; or unless one of them starts to suck). That said, if I had a gun to my head I'd choose Zetterberg. The only reason I'd hesitate is he's had some more injury problems than Datsyuk has had... But really, when Zetterbeg is on his game, its scary. He's a force on the ice out there, and I give him points for having(in my opinion) more of a leadership presence. That said, Zetter seemed to struggle a bit more last year in terms of consistency. Dats seemed to stick on pace at a reliable level, but he never really reached the same "level" the Zetterberg is capable of reaching.

Downey looked better than Ellis. When Sammy comes back, scratch Ellis and keep Downey. That is all.

Christ yes... We need him back. Not that it would matter that much, since half of our defensive corps. looks like it deserves to be benched half the game. If we can sign him anywhere in the range of 3M-3.5M or somewhere in that range, jump on it. He could even be trade bait later in the year of our other defensemen get their heads out of their asses.

Oh god... Sammy is injured. Our deep roster is looking thin all of a sudden. Kings: 4(Calder,Calder,Frolov,Cammalleri) Wings:1(Filpulla) I think this road trip will be a catastrophe much like it was last year; it will be the low point that starts the Wings rebound into the rest of the season.

I think I'll stab myself in the eyes if I hear another "Bring back Feds!" post. He does not want to play here, relations with him and the team are not good. period. Also, lets just throw away some prospects for a 37 year old ! Fedorov looks mediocre and Forsberg isn't even playing
