More proof that Ovechkin is basically awesome
omnipotent_hudler replied to omnipotent_hudler's topic in General
it doesn't make him better, but there's no way that Crosby should be the "face" of the nhl, when you have a guy like Ovechkin who is a superstar on the ice and hilarious off of it -

lilja did the same for his kid -
Ah yes truly it is a testament to the character and gravitas of first citizen Hudler Felix that we should dedicate the longest and most provocative topic on the boards to his noble spirit. We shall weep, laugh, and roar with triumph as the arduous tale is told; in the end, however, our labors will be rewarded by the mere presence of Hudler the August upon the ice once again, donning Alexander's red and leading us to victory. -Cato, 60 BCE

Which nation would have the top 2 forward lines?

the case against #91 being retired is as follows: *whine* he left detroit!!! omg you cant do that!!!!!! his numbers and his contributions to the franchise more than compare to the other numbers up there
-
off topic but i'm looking forward to the reaction of this board when 91 goes to the rafters

What's the expectations for Zetterberg this season?
omnipotent_hudler replied to Phazon's topic in General
ZDH Franzen-Filpulla-Sammy Hudler-Kopecky-Hossa (Slovakian chemistry ftw) but seriously why would you split up datsyuk and zetterberg, the chemistry there is outrageous Franzen-Filppula-Hossa will crush things -

yep, but if we're talking olympics USA/Canda has an advantage because Vancouver is too cheap to shell out money for a regulation size sheet of international ice. -
honestly in hudler's case TOI is less important than who he's going up against when he's on the ice(other fourth liners) also he's really not very good defensively
-
I like Hudler's character( I chose him as my username for gods sake), but I don't think he's nearly as good as people here are saying he is. I certainly don't think he's better than Semin. I'll probably be sad when he leaves or is traded but hes really not worth more than 2 mil or so a year
-
very nice to get him locked up cheap for 3 years
-
Stuart getting out of trouble in his zone there with no real help is pretty underrated

hey jee guys lets place probably the most popular winter classic ever at wrigley with 41,000 seats instead of the big house with 100,000

itt we make predictions as to the number of protesters imprisoned/killed and the number of athletes sidelined by horrible air and the number of times nbc will be horribly tempted to break its contract clause that prevents it from showing this

something like this is much better than a crappy 90's retro
-
pretty much. they were debuted in the early 90's as a retro jersey, they looked awful then and they look awful now there are other ways to make the jersey look classic for this game without wearing that thing just take a look back at some of the minor differences in wings jerseys from earlier eras and imitate them
