Radulov bolts from Nashville, signs with Ufa
omnipotent_hudler replied to sibiriak's topic in General
hahahaha if this is true -
The no movement is probably a safeguard against detroit recognizing that they might only have him for one year and dealing him for a massive return as his value is so high right now.

We know the chemistry of the Russian 5- know what they produced. We don't know if Dats-Z-Hossa will gel at all. So really can't vote them over the Russian 5.

Who Wears the "C" after Lidstrom
omnipotent_hudler replied to LIDSTROM-YZERMAN4PRESIDENT's topic in General
does my opinion matter if i don't put it in caps lock -
In Soviet Russia, team lets down Emery!

Basically, though I think Zetterberg and Datsyuk have more to prove; if they keep up on this track and win one more cup I think it's a no brainer Lidstrom is the only one of the pack that I think should have a Stevei-Y next year retirement. Osgood, maybe. Federov should be a few years from his retirement I think. Zetterberg and Datsyuk, tough to say right now.

good I like the caps, like feds; though I never really wanted him back here

Blue Jackets send RFA Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard offer sheet
omnipotent_hudler replied to hckypete96's topic in General
shouldn't we know about an actual offer sheet being thrown at one of our players when we knew about "rumblings" about one being sent to Filppula? Not saying you're wrong , but this seems odd -
I know this is kind of but I thought it was interesting that Ken Campbell over at thn thinks Hossa will stay beyond this year.

I still contend that you cannot compare the two because it's a different game in a different era That being said, were I to compare them I'd say that Orr is pretty obviously the best all around defenseman ever. But in terms of the defensive aspect of the position, Lidstrom is better. e: also, with all the talk about Orr revolutionizing the position, I think you can make a similar case for Lidstrom, though obviously not even close to the same level. In the mid 90's Lidstrom flew under the radar because no one really payed attention to a defenseman who plays the way that Lidstrom does. The emphasis was always on physical play, Lidstrom made people realize just how valuable a positional defenseman can be.

whole time I was watching I kept thinking of Agassi/Sampras in 2001. I was rooting for Agassi there too, i kinda have a bad track record in rooting for players in "epic" matches
-
yeah it was fantastic, outrageous points was pulling for Federer so I'm a bit disappointed honestly

Ville Leino- Finnish FA recently signed, could possibly make fourth line but will likely end up in GR with this roster Darren Helm- Wings prospect who had a strong showing in this years playoffs, will probably end up in GR though with this roster Jonathan Ericcsson- Wings prospect, projected top 4 D some day, will likely end up in GR this year Kyle Quincy- Wings D prospect, had a strong playoff in 06/07 but was injured at training camp this year. Will likely be traded or 7th/8th D Derek Meech- Wings D prospect, played some games this year and looked good. Will likely be traded or 7th/8th D Jakub Kindl- Highly touted Wings D prospect, had a rough year in GR last year, will be there for sure this year unless traded. Johan Ryno- Wings forward prospect, looked great in pre season last year but got homesick and left GR for Sweden. Will likely be at training camp Jan Mursak- Wings forward prospect, plays for the Belleville Bulls of the OHL, had a decent season last year. Played at world juniors this year for Slovakia Cory Emmerton- Wings forward prospect, plays for the Brampton Batallion of the OHL, slumped a bit last year but finished pretty strong Justin Abdelkader- Wings forward prospect from MSU, played a couple games last year and didn't look out of place on the fourth line. Will probably end up in GR; though most of LGW wants him on on the third line RIGHT NOW GRIT GRIT GRIT hth

lol if you are concerned about this franchise then you are like a sports hypochondriac front office will be fine, I'm a bit concerned about losing Hakan Andersson in 2 years, but as to holland etc., we have Nill, Devellano and Yzerman all ready to take the reigns if necessary and keeping our prospects in the minors for long periods of time actually makes them into better nhl players in the end

screw downey screw mccarty both are 13th forwards that we should realistically use only 30-40 games a season at 5-7 minutes per game, anything more than that is outrageous qtiyd
