FYI: Just a warning. Watch how you respond to this poster. I got a nasty PM for questioning his possible score of this game. Yeah, he's blocked.

How about I try to figure out where the hell you're coming from? ....Naw..... :nonono:

Great post, Russian Houdini. It's almost like I was there. And welcome to the board!! :beerbuddy:
-
These are great! Even the blurry ones. Most of mine are like that from when I've tried to take pics of them on the ice. THANKS!!

Cleary needs to keep hanging around our opponent's net; and it wouldn't hurt if Bert leaned the same way. He's got an even bigger butt than Homer. We have got to start screening the goalies more. Traffic, traffic, TRAFFIC, damn it!
-
I'm not sure why this was brought up in the first place, but I agree with All of the Above. What a time-saver you are, 55fan!
-
Don't have time to watch this, but if it might have been a Penguin's goal, no way it's good. If it could have been a Philly goal, butofcourse it was good.

I understand what you're saying about Rafalski. That some of us over-react about his play. So I thought about my own reactions and I've decided I really wasn't looking to zero in on him or anybody else concerning iffy play, because I know in my heart it's a team game. But jeeezusss, how many times does he have to shoot the puck into an opponent's feets; or give the damn thing away before he learns to take one more millisecond to scope out the area? It's almost always the same type of mistake that he makes. Over and over and over and... ...AAAACK....! .....EEEEEK!.... Peace out.

Good point. So does Tuzzi. Another ******* growth experience.

This is indeed worth pondering because as good as Howard's been playing, he did not play all that well against the supposed bottom-feeding Ducks. And when Babcock talks about "all the staff" thinking the same way he does about Ozzie, I find that hard to believe. And I think he feels a wee bit on the defensive right now. And I hope he does.
-
"Needs to do"....?! What the hell is Ozzie supposed to do if he's not out there? Kiss Babcock's butt? I THINK NOT.
-
Hey, WATCH IT! Hook 'em Horns!!

I fervently hope you have the time of your life!! :flash:

OK, so which is it? That this team should be able to figure out a way to win in spite of the injuries like a lot of posters here are saying? Or is it that we're not winning mostly because of the injuries? The latter is what I believe, but Babcock is still wrong to not play Ozzie - just to keep him in mental and physical shape, IF for NO other reason.
-
You might want to include the whole team with this one. They just don't know it yet. Naw, maybe it's just an unconfirmed death wish.

http://www.detnews.com/article/20100105/OP...it-in-standings "Reasons to stress Also, as good as Jimmy Howard has been, at some point Chris Osgood will have to be re-established as the No. 1 goalie. It's unlikely the Wings want to put their playoff hopes on the shoulders of a rookie goalie. Osgood has been the best playoff goalie in the league the last two years. But the process of getting him re-established could be rough. What if Howard continues to keep his save percentage above .920? What if the Wings continue to roll with him in net? When does Osgood get a chance to get his rhythm back? What happens when Osgood comes back and maybe struggles for a game or two? Teams have been torn apart by lesser issues. ^THIS^, and from a sports source other than us know-nothing posters. :deal:

Bowman got great results. I think partly because of his rep and partly because he was "democratic" with his controlling-type behavior. What's Babcock's record right now? Is what he's doing working? I think not.
-
This says it for me. There's NO way Howard should be or could be expected to be the only one to carry this team to the playoffs and right now, that looks like what Babcock is thinking. It is not logical not to play Ozzie, even now and then. It makes NO sense no matter how you look at it. It is not in the team's best interests not to play Ozzie. Right now, Babcock does not look at all good in this fiasco, no matter what his reasons are. It looks to be a personal vendetta and it is STUPID, shortsigthted, and selfish.

And the 3rd and 4th lines ain't exactly chopped liver with their hustle and grind. Yahoo!

LOVE your pictures!! :colorbounce:

Honestly, I did not mean to make this into the 4,000th Ozzie/Howard thread. So I will not bring this up again here or respond to anything that's thrown out there on this same subject. Hopefully, that'll end it on this thread. This is happy news about Zetts and Cleary and that's where we should focus. Sorry...
-
I don't see playing Ozzie soon as being "nice and respectful". I see it as the right, balanced, logical response to what's coming up for the Detroit Red Wings in this season. If Howard gets injured or falters, how could it not be good for the team if Oz is physically and mentally ready to play? More than he could possibly be right now?
-
How long do you think this question should be a logical one? Till the Olympic break? Till the playoffs? Sooner or later they must work Ozzie in. And sooner is almost always better. He.has.got.to.get.his.playing.time.in.so.he.will.be.ready.for.whatever.big.push. is.coming. Period.

YES to all of the above. And THANKS, Mindfly! That's GREAT news!

Even being here on the"Third Coast", I'm glad you keep the Wings' fans informed and organized on that one. I'm guessing they appreciate it too! And even reading about it vicariously is kind of cool. THANKS for putting stuff on here.
