Funny you should bring that up. I thought I heard it too. Nuthin' funny about the OT though. Don't know where their heads were, but I can guess.

They don't even have to "call them out". It would be more than enough if the refs admitted their own errors, but they NEVER do. As for heavy scrutiny, I'd like to think that actually happens but I have not seen any instances where referees were taken out of the "lineup", or penalized in any way. The only way I know of that they're affected negatively is that their "grades" may keep them out of refereeing the playoffs and finals. BFD.

And how long has professional hockey been played? And how long should it take to permanently REMOVE the opportunity to make such s***ty decisions mainly made because of a referee's ego and arrogance? And how long should it take to also remove the cover-up by other refs on the ice to save his ass, in spite of how it might affect the outcome of the game? (I.E., the call from center ice on Stuart for high sticking.)

I have it on our recorder and I will watch it tomorrow morning. And to think I almost erased that game. Those guys are really quite good at calling games too, so I can hardly wait to see/hear their reaction.

Wilbon and Kornheiser JUST talked about THE goal and showed it. They agreed it was a rotten call and said the refs "covered it up" and said after the fact that there was intent to blow the whistle. They also quasi-joked about a conspiracy. But kids, it is out there. Not a moment too soon.

What we have here is sheer unadulterated ineptitude and idiocy by the refs. Jeezuss, it's bad enough trying to deal with that fact BECAUSE NOBODY IN THE NHL HIERARCHY SEEMS TO GIVE A s*** ABOUT IT. And THAT, kids is the scariest part of all.

I haven't even had a chance to watch the game yet, but this indeed is the sad, sickening fact. They are simply not punished, fined or demoted for their stupidity, their laziness, their lack of training and sometimes, probably their vindictiveness. The only negative response that I know of that they get is that they don't get to ref the playoffs and finals. BFD. It is criminal. Period. And if it was as bad as most of you indicate, I wish to hell the Wings had just stopped playing. Let them get fined. Point is, their ineptitude at last will be in the news and espn, etc. would ride it till it's done to death.

If anybody's looking for the game in my area you will only find it on (Directv) channel 676. It's the Dallas feed. Thank god "Razor" is OK announcing hockey.

Here in Texas I turn on the tv to watch the "Red Wings Live" show. It is NOT on HD; it is only on the piece-of-s*** regular channel. Now I know I'm gonna have to take whatever they hand out on the NHL network tonight, but why the hell are they not showing the "Live" show in HD? AND YES. Geeze, the Wings are popular, huh! I also noticed that the baby outfit was "currently unavailable". Kinda like any person's brain cells who would spend good money on this kind of crap.

THANKS for all the stuff you put on here about Shanny, ET. I'm so sorry he ever left the Wings. But I'm hoping that someone in the NHL will be bright enough to hire him in some meaningful capacity. I don't even like fights as a rule - but that fight had to be one of my favorite moments in Red Wings' history. And McCarty's goal IS my favorite goal by any Red Wing. That is, if I had to choose just one.

However, you left out the Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry. As you probably recall, they too, can get pretty carried away.
