The Penguin's record is bordering on unbeatable. And depressing. Meanwhile, although the stats for total points is surprisingly the same between the top 2-3 teams in both conferences, I assume the Eastern Conference teams are still supposed to be weaker than the WC teams. I honestly don't watch enough of other teams' games. So I'm asking here, can the Caps or maybe the Rangers, etc., possibly take 'em out, or do you all think there are teams from the Western Conference that have a good chance to beat them? (Avs, Sharks, etc.) This, of course, depends on who the Penguins play during the regular season and is barring any injuries the Penguins might incur. God forbid.

I really, REALLY dislike the Ducks, moreso than any other team including the Avs. I hate their chosen philosophy of pushing the envelope and playing dirty to try to make points. And I really hate it when they get away with it, which is way too often. I'm grateful they played last night and lost and I hope we beat the crap out of them in every way possible. Go May. Go Ericsson. Go Kronners. Go Stuart. Oh yeah. Get some goals too, please. :hockeysmile:

My take is that this commentary borders on nit-picking. Maybe it's because I'm so grateful he's playing so well and consistently for a young'n. And yeah, the rebounds are not a real good thing, but if it makes our boyz stay near the net ready to move the puck away then that's not all bad.

Brett actually had some nice moments especially in defense of the puck.

One other thing I forgot to mention - I was listening to the game on XM radio and after about the third or fourth goal, one of the Columbus announcers said (pretty much) that the Wings were using them like a practice squad - and pretty much doing whatever they wanted with 'em. I wasn't home for any of the game except the first two goals. I watched it when I got home and WOWZA!!! I am so very proud of the Wings. Spouse said they never, ever let up. I can hardly wait to start reading this board. Let me count the explanation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is happening to the Penguins is what I hoped would happen. They're coming up against better(Western) teams, albeit with injuries on both sides, and they're finding they are not invincible. I watched a lot of their game with the Sharks, and they didn't handle losing at all well. McKee went berserk toward the end of the game and after the fifth goal was scored, it looked like Orpik was also thinking of going ballistic. Made my evening, especially after the Wings' game. But WE beat the Sharks and THEY beat the Penguins. So mebee we won't be handing out any trophies to ANYbody just yet, I'm thinking...

This makes me think of another way to look at Ericcson. Rafalski gets to play with the best defenseman on the planet. So what's HIS excuse? (Yes, he drives me batz, too.) I agree with those who say Ericcson is almost a rookie and probably worries about how Lebda's gonna screw up next and how he might have to cover for him.
