I love Maltby. Always have. He's chippy. He drives opponents nuts with his aggressive, large-gnat-like behavior. He's a loyal, hard-working, funny, blue-collar, TEAM player. And if Babcock doesn't play him more - along with Drapes - then I'm comin' after him. OK, so I'll need at least two large Wings' fans to hold him, but I.will.take.him.down.

Aussie, we were there and had a fine time. Except for the Griffins' loss. They played really good D most of the game, although their passing needs work. I wore my Konstantinov jersey and I thought it would work, but neeeuuooo. We sat right behind the Stars' bench which was not ideal, but now I know why some of them were staring at my jersey. The ex-Wings' names you mentioned who now play for the Stars played great and were on the ice a LOT. Says something for the Wings' system, too, ya know? Of course you do! As I said on the Wings/Kings' thread, we were looking for Tatar and now we know why he wasn't there. Kind of...! They could really use him, methinks. McCollum did indeed look great positionally and except for the flurry of shots (PLUS the one-sided calls by the refs) by the Stars at the end of the game, it was a great game.

We just got back from the Austin Stars/Griffins' game, and I'm tearing up looking at the Great and Wondrous Lids get all that noise and praise heaped upon hisself. It's been fun reading the posts here, knowing how the Wings' game ended and seeing what you all had to say about how it went. I recorded it so I'll probably fall asleep tonight watching it. The Griffins lost in about the last five minutes of the game, 2-0 (empty net goal), but they played pretty well in spite of five penalty calls against them while there was one matching one for the Stars...Hmmmm. Oh yeah. I was looking for Tatar but he wasn't on the ice. I hope he's not seriously injured. Anyways, thanks again, Jolly.

UK, this is off topic, but I gotta tell you I was on this board yesterday and there was this fly in the house. I was reading one of your posts as the live fly landed on the screen. The fly literally headed for your avatar fly as if to say, "What's your sign, babe?" Had to laugh out loud. OK, back to the topic at hand.

I was thinking about the ass thing, and you're right. The Wings not only had them handed to them in Buffalo, but Babcock probably worked off what was left in practice yesterday. Could be a really interesting game to watch.

Meanwhile, I still think Zetts is not completely healed and now with Datsyuk hurting, it looks like it could definitely take more timefor them to get back in sync. This is the thing, I think. Yeah, you have expectations because they usually win. Expectations can kill you. They can mess you up when you least expect it. One more time. The Wings owe us nothing. They will have bad nights. They may even have bad weeks/months/seasons. But they owe us nothing. They only owe themselves, since they're the ones who truly suffer for their ineptitude. What I'd like to see happen is that all the fans here who say they're out for the season because of their play tonight actually believe that and don't come back. If you think they're that bad, fine. Stick to your word and stay the hell away. It's bad enough watching them lose like this when you know what their potential is. The last thing I'm looking for here is a Death Watch.
