It looked like all the fans were pretty much standing throughout the game. I'm assuming I'm right and that's what they always do?
-
Gee, no commercial breaks yet. Sure do miss them...
-
Ah yezz, wiley Willy!
-
Just catching up here so if nobody's answered you, it's Howard and he's doing fine. I also love the music they're playing. Even the Swedish-type polka stuff.
-
I was thinking it was for every Wings' line change...just like when you hear bands play, you clap for individual solos, but WHO know? And who cares?! What a GREAT experience. And yes, the ice looks huge!
-
OK, I'm already panicking about being able to watch the stream. I went to the NHL website and didn't see anything about watching the Wings' game. I DID see a link where you would have to pay to watch their streaming videos. Is that the deal? Or is it going to be a free feed, and if so, does one have to log on to witness it? Anybody? Anybody?? And THANKS.
-
It only matters because ESAD brought it up as if it's important they have a good preseason too. My point was that it just doesn't matter where the Wings are concerned. I'm all for the young'ns having their day out there and I agree with everything you said.
-
First off, you would be much more believable (yeeeahhh....) if you didn't persist in calling everyone who disagrees with you a "newbie". As for the significance of wins in the preseason, COULD SOMEONE PLEASE REITERATE what was said probably on another thread about the Wings losing most or all their games in a preseason and GOING ON TO WIN THE STANLEY CUP? Thanks. Because I can't remember what year it happened...
-
"Turtling"?? And what the hell would you be doing with two and a half guys pounding on you? Meanwhile, in reference to all the comments about Guerin and his play, I agree. I also think he's playing scared. I believe he knows in his heart he isn't going to be playing hockey much longer. Thus, the blatant hold call and then the piling on...Not good.
-
All I know is he had to pull a muscle reaching for his comments. Not funny. Not in anyway connected with announcing hockey.
-
I believe the sidebars were there because the HD view was on the NHL network, not from Fox Detroit. At least here in Texas, the HD version was not offered on Fox Detroit's HD channel. It was only available on the NHL channel. And they use those sidebars a lot, if not all the time.
-
Tsk tsk...On the other hand, it's good to know he has one, eh?
-
Tomas Holmstrom is a loyal hard-working Detroit Red Wing and consistently works his butt off, each and every night, WITHOUT complaint. He is sheer class and I will always honor him and what he's accomplished. And thanks for starting this thread!

Basically, we agree. It's a business. But as an individual (who doesn't pay the bills!) I would drop Directv in a heartbeat and move to Dish. Meanwhile, and sadly, I don't see a deal being done because of the very reasons you've posted.
-
The upshot-irony in all this is that Directv paid $4 billion to extend their exclusive contract for the NFL Sunday Ticket to 2014. So their righteous indignation over what Comcast is demanding is enough to make one upchuck, if one were so inclined. The only thing right now that keeps us with Directv is the football package. And since spouse pays the bills, I guess we stay with Directv. :puke:
-
As a matter of fact, methinks he was outplaying most of his team. OK yeah - we have a lotta newbies out there. :::removing padding from walls:::
-
Yeupp. Scary, but true. Also looked like the guy was holding on to him, but they haven't called anything on the Rangers yet. Why start now, eh?
-
If you have the Directv sports package, it's on MSG 634.
-
THANKS for the heads up on this! I can't believe how fired up I am to see our sweet team again! :beerbuddy:
-
How's your summer going, Karen? Great, I hope!
-
Exactly. It would be suicidal for Versus to turn down Directv.

Some of you here are just going to have to tell the rest of us how you manage to live such perfect lives that you feel entitled to lay all this negative news on here. Or even add to it with rumor de jour bulls***. Or maybe it's just that it makes you feel better about your own whatever-existences to spew this crap about someone/anyone else, celebrity or not? Having learned just a wee bit from my own loser-type experiences, I wish Mac nothing but the best and the same for those who love him. As for you others, soon you're probably going to have add to that pile of stones you keep SO handy. Otherwise, what's left for you? And I can only hope you get a hernia doing it.

Thank you very much for linking this article to the site. He will remain my favorite player for as long as my memory lasts.

Same here. But the nausea was fleeting. I'm just so damn glad he's outta there.
