TOTALLY agree. And there's more! Remember during that faceoff when Mac and Turtle were conversing? Does anybody here think that Mac wasn't suggesting to el s***head that they needed to uh...work things out? There's no doubt in my mind anyway that that is exactly what Mac was suggesting to him or warning him that it was coming. Meanwhile...Sakic, one of the classiest guys on the ice is retiring. And then there's LePew. Talk about total opposites.

I obviously don't understand how all this stuff works, but if he's signed, doesn't that mean he's gone?
-
Well-put. And I totally agree. I was hoping it was just a matter of time.

He was a wonderful mentor to Vince Young, our U. of Texas QB. I hope and pray that healing takes place for all involved.

Uh. No s***, sherlock. Ozzie was beyond consistent and stalwart when it really counted. Moreso than any other member of the 2009 Stanley Cup finals Red Wings' team. I don't know where your head is on this one, but I can guess.

Sporting News is saying the same thing but for all I know they're part of the same media outlet. I can't open the link, and so far I've checked all sources and nobody else is saying it. We can hope...

the top 50 professional hockey players in the world today!

You and hockey23 pretty much say it for me too. Some of these picks are close to criminal. Zetterberg did pretty much shut down Crosby. What the hell else needs to be said about those two? -
Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

Butofcourse. I love this, even right down to the fourth-line grinders. -
Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
Vladifan replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Yes, Yeupp, and amen. I'm hoping this is one of those word games (i.e., verbal volleyball) that Holland's playing with Hossa and his agent. -
I love him and it's obvious that Holland and others who have clout think he's important to the organization. Like others here, I hope he stays on in some capacity after he's through playing.
-
If we play the psychological game, if Hossa really wants 6 mill a year, either he or Holland or both are going to have to find a way to save face, to compromise so that both parties look "good". I have no idea where else he would go because like others here have said who can offer him the same kinds of perks that the Wings can? However, right now I don't see him staying in Detroit. But then I'm not Kenny Holland. And we can all be grateful for that.

Well, YOU know...Country de Jour!

Here's to Chris Chelios. The player I loved to hate when he was a Blackhawk; as a Wing, the player I loved to see deck those I hated. He had a work ethic like no other and there's not a player in the game now who couldn't learn from it. His dedication to the game and making himself better for the game will probably remain unparalleled. I'll miss him very much. He brought so much excitement and emotion to the game. And I'll miss what he stood for as long as I remain a fan of this game.

Your posts and responses are a perfect example of how one can be really good at reaching, but not grasping. And you're the worst kind of "fan" because you flame your own team members , sometimes while pretending to praise them. And I'm guessing it's obvious to most of us here that you do it to gain attention. How very sad. What I do appreciate is that you've managed to bring out some really great testimonials about how much the the majority of us here appreciate Chris Chelios and wish him the best.

I just hope that you'll understand that we as individuals will remember whatever Cheli we want to remember. We all have our own experiences and responses to The Man. The Cheli I'll remember is the one who was a plus-56, the very year we went to a Hawks'/Wings game in Chicago and some blowhard idiot in front of us who never shut up called him "scum". He was never scum. Never was, never will be. And anybody who feels the need to say that he "sucked" has their own set of problems to deal with. And cutesy, put-down little responses on this thread aren't gonna get you any closer to being less arrogant or dismissive of other posters' views. Nobody, but nobody had his work ethic and honestly, I'm guessing some of the naysayers here couldn't even fathom the hours he put in to stay in shape, let alone even think about working out like he did. He was a great teacher, and a great PR member for the Wings. I'll never forget his battles with Forsberg, Lindros, and whoever else he could get to. I was thrilled to see him take out players I really, REALLY didn't like. I hated him as a Hawk, loved him as a Wing and I will miss him very much. And I wish him nothing but the very best in whatever's in his future.

I need reminding, please. When do the cap numbers come out from the NHL or whoever? And is that the soonest we can hear about what happens with Hossa, etc.? THANKS in advance.

I just finished reading this article and I think it's right on and should give some "fans" here some perspective. Then again, mebee not. Thanks for re-printing it here.

Thanks to all of you. All of this is helpful.

Hockeytown0001: Thanks SO much for these classy, informational and professional GD threads you produced. I greatly appreciate all the talent and effort and time you put in to setting them up. Hopefully, you'll be willing to do it again next season?!

Thanks, Matt! Thanks, Mods! I'm guessing you were juuust a little busy last night?! I don't care that the house I live in has gone to hell over the last few months. I am just very grateful you guys are here and that I have had this opportunity to kibitz and harrass and learn. THANKS!!

As I said in my second to last post on here for the season, about 2/3 of our fans ripped our team more than any Pens' fans probably will here. They deserve each other.
-
The Wings lost. I feel terrible. But mostly I feel terrible for them that for whatever reason, they didn't bring their A game. Then again, more than half the fans on this board didn't even bring their F game. I wish all the stalwart, reasonable Wings' fans well here. As for the rest of you, I feel very sad for you. You're like little brats who want everything yesterday. And I am done trying to tolerate your piss-ant attitude when things don't go the way YOU think they should go. I won't be here, but I can only imagine how YOU"RE going to deal with all the rabid animals that will come screaming in from the so-called Pens "fans" side of things. Hell, most of you have already ripped your team more than they ever could. You deserve eachother. Again, to the real fans here, I wish you a great rest-of-the-summer. And tomorrow, I'm going to make it a special point to drive somewhere so I can fly my Wings' car flag.
-
Do not tell me they aren't trying. I'm not reading the board right now, but I would bet a whole lot of money that you're still bitching, still saying they're losers that they're not worth s***. You make me absolutely sick. No matter what happens in this game, you make me absolutely sick.
-
And you lack heart and loyalty. But most of all, PERSPECTIVE.

Thank you. You said it for me too.
