Yeeahhhhh, bebeee. Don't wanna miss that Kobe Scowl!

Like others here, I'm uptight about the opening of the game. But I got thrown in the last one. At the top, it looked like the Pens were gonna skate away with it. But it turned like 180 around the 10 minute mark. And the Wings never looked back. It seemed different from the other games in that whoever started out strong seemed to win it. Could be wrong since my mind is a blur right now. I've run around all day. Mowed the lawn. Shopped for s*** I don't need. Got groceries when the pantry's already full. Even cleaned toilets! Got my Konstantinov jersey folded just the right way on the sofa next to where I sit, so I can rub the letters on the back for good mojo/juju whenever I get the call. Got my Wings' tee ready. Got the recorder on already. NHL TV just said Fleury is 4-0 after losing the last game by four or more. Cacapoopoo... Also, Crosby is saying (probably recorded) he didn't even think about the last game or the mistakes they made. And all the guys have forgotten about it. Stevie's coming on next!!!

This is a great thread, and a great response. I couldn't agree more about how some of our "fans" have absolutely no perspective about what we've fallen into with the Red Wings. And nothing, I mean NOTHING drives me battier than these idiots who twist their good fortune and misuse it by whining, complaining and criticizing the team or individual players. Like we should or do have ANYTHING to say about it anyway! ....jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzussssssssssss.... :nonono:

Agreed. And the other really big positive in that article was that Datsyuk did not use ice or a boot after that game. YEEEHAAA!!!

This is a helluva'n article. Thanks, Opie!

Good choice. One of the best films ever produced.

I agree with you about Crosby being the most over-exposed athlete in the NHL. But I don't think much of it is his fault. The blame lies with Bettman and the marketing...uh...gurus who pushed this kid into the limelight. The same goes for Malkin. That's a lot of pressure on a kid his age and it's seldom that maturity matches talent. Most kids their age are being brought up slowly (as in the Red Wings' organization) and they're not exposed to this kind of rabid press coverage. They're kids, talented or no - and they have been shoved into the spotlight. And their reactions (even when they seem to eat it up) are typical of kids their age. Remember what Babcock said in a recent press conference? The Red Wings do not bring up their real talented kids right off. They indoctrinate them into the system to give them an idea of what's coming. They have to work their way up. He also said that if you bring a kid up too soon and start giving him the big bucks, they usually stop playing. That is not true of Crosby and Malkin. They are definitely contributing to their team. So I choose to give them credit for that. And I choose to give them a break because of their ages.

You seem to be a class act, and I commend you for your loyalty to your team. It really is refreshing to read the banter/discussion between you and some of our more rational posters here. Please keep coming back.

When Pavel Met Evgeni--The turning point of the series
Vladifan replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I know I speak for hundreds of others here when I say we can't tell you how much we appreciate your sincerity, your integrity, your candor and your outright honest praise of our beloved Red Wings. Be sure to come back and visit often. We look forward to your direct and most positive posts. -
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So. What do you think of the cost of gasoline? Like I give a crap about hearing ANYthing again from either one of you. Unless by some miracle you can stick to the subject of H O C K E Y

It was Gilchrist. EDIT: Hmmmm. Late again!

You're kidding....aren't you? This ranks right up there with the Penguins' fan's post that talked about the sticks and how the Wings altered them...

I love this one. And your timing is always exquisite with it.

And herein lies some of the ignorance. It's not our fault that corporations and suits buy those tickets and then don't show up or even bother to give them away. Detroiters and almost any of the rest of us would love to use those seats.
-
I totally agree. What the hell do we care what they say about us? If we do, that means they're in our heads and we give them power over us. I'm not giving them nuthin'. I'm just absolutely thrilled with the way MY team is playing. Again, they have some bright fans and they have idiots, just like we do. Give it up, ahready! And I vote on moving this kind of thread to somewhere - anywhere else. Thenk yew.

Agreed. Why lower ourselves to their level? We have fans on this board that are losers no matter how the Wings are doing. Every sports board has its share of bad losers/winners.

Healing. Or Therapeutic.

Thanks! I thought of that very photo when I read this guy's post.

You wouldn't even see Helm or probably Abdelkader act like that.

Word. And that also points out one of the huge differences between our young'ns and their young'ns.

Great imaginative stuff here!

Yes, in spades. I gotta say I was worried before the game because I was afraid they were too tired and beat up to pull it off. Boy, did they make a fool outta me and I am thrilled about it!!!

Colin who? I missed that. Thanks.
