SCOREBOARD

Chuckle away, Chuckie, but do you realize what you wrote? You say viewers are tuning in to watch the wondrously-marketed Crosby. But because of the "shadowed clutched grabbed and impeded" play by the Wings viewers are really bothered that he's not playing well and they tune out? First off, WE DO NOT CLUTCH AND GRAB AND YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THAT'S THE CASE, because our guys don't have to. (Remember? You only have two really good offensive players?) Meanwhile, are you suggesting that we should let up on him and stop swarming so that he can score goals so "we" can't blame Crosby?? Your logic, your thread here is absolutely mind-boggling and defies decoding. You're the one who brought up the brilliance of the marketing scheme. So the hell we or anyone else can't blame the uber-hyped Crosby because he's NOT PRODUCING. It's not our fault you only have the two who can actually and consistently move the puck. ***** and whine to Bettman, not us.

I can't speak for the rest of the Eastern Conference, but.your.forwards.are.not.real.good.at.playing.two-way.hockey. And your D leaves a whole lot to be desired, not by me though. RE: Abdelkader's goal. Meanwhile, breaks schmeaks. Ultimately, and other than the above, IT IS OUR DEPTH THAT WILL DO YOU IN. DEAL OR DRIVE ON.

And as bad as we feel about it, can you imagine what he's going through right now? And I agree - he would have probably turned Malkin inside out by now. Even with his jersey not tied down.
-
Thanks for the slo-mo. That was indeed a great non-call. And I still think McCreary's one of the best. OK, the only best!
-
I don't think he's overrated. I think he's a great player. I think it's more that our guys are able to swarm him when he has the puck. The Pens really only have two players that have to be covered. If they had more talent on offense, he would be able to have more freedom on the ice and be more of a threat. Meanwhile, our guys are doing brilliantly on staying on him and on Malkin. Bettman and the hype honchos are going berserk over him as if that's going to bring more viewers in to watch Versus - which most viewers don't have access to. THERE'S the idiocy of this whole frickin' picture.
-
This is absolute bullcrap. If what you're saying was true, there should have been a penalty called on your guy for interfering with Hossa coming up the ice. The point is: IF Hossa had tried to go around your guy and your guy had moved into him, THAT would have been interference. They even talked about that specific play NOT being interference last night.

You're kidding, right? I think it's right where it ought to be. For all to see and be reminded of what we've got going here.
-
EXCELLENT point RS. This is the classiest, most well-managed board out there in never-never land, and I am honored to be a member of it. Here's to Matt and all the Mods for all their patience, perspective and hard work!!

The Wings' game five with the Hawks was the highest-rated game/program that Versus has ever had, including the Lance Armstrong Tour de France adventure. Not sayin' much I know, but I'm thinking viewers in general are thinking it's a given that the Wings are going to win the Cup again.
-
No. He's making waves out there. I am underwhelmed by Sammy and Hudler. They are not doing much at all out there except for giving up the puck.
-
Pierre McGuire said he'd be back for game 3. So that makes it pretty much a lock. For once, I hope he's right.
-
It's a pisser, but there you are.
-
Again, they don't have forwards who play both ways or at least play very well on defense. They really just don't.
-
Much as I don't like it and don't agree, I'm guessing they rescinded it because Malkin's not a goon. And if that's why they created that rule in the first place (and I had heard that too) then whether we like it or not, there is precedence and rationale for what they decided.
-
#1 bolded statement is right on. Crosby and Malkin are brilliant players but Bettman and his hype honchos have built them up to impossible standards. If we win the Stanley Cup I'd like to think Bettman might learn something from that....nawww... The second bolded statement is a hilarious description of Fleury right now. Thanks for taking the time to write all this.

:rotflmao: Loved that scene in Jurrasic Park! Scared the pee outta me!

Let's face it. In spite of your smiley faces and your "ha ha's", you really do like to argue and/or disagree more than just discuss. I think you're what I'd call a contrarian. But I'm not sure because I haven't looked it up lately. Of course it's OK if you want to go that route, but I find it hard to take you seriously.

They did that all night long when they had to. They took no s*** from any Pen in front of the net. VERY good to see.
-
Kinda hard to do with six guys in front of him.
-
Way to go with the emoticons.

Sammy pretty much sucked tonight. I yelled at him more than I did any Pens.
