I know this is really crazy but I have a feeling the Wings are gonna do well tonight. Yep, I know it could be wishful hoping, however,,,
-
I'm confused about this? What was supposed to be sarcastic about my Ian White post? Quote THIS is what's totally unecessary. Along with the "Umm", it's not a contest of who can be snarkier or who chooses to come off as a bigger wise-ass.. It IS a forum for exchanging ideas without using the crutch of passive-aggressive putdowns.

They seem to really favor that area behind the net to do their jackknife specials.
-
Agreed. It could also mean they choke up because they're trying too hard.
-
Please try to work more on keeping your sarcasm to a minimum. Totally uncalled for and it's way too close to being considered a personal attack.
-
Once again, Howard is saving their asses.
-
They start playing like the Red Wings can and more often than not, they can get way lucky.

I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, and knew about some of the famous/infamous players on the Hawks. Maybe it was because I wasn't old enough to get involved with any kind of hockey at that time. And I really didn't till we moved to Texas, and the Russian Five started playing together. They really weren't together all that long but oh god. How I loved to watch them work their magic and remove certain articles of clothing from the opponent's players. I have my faves. Konstantinov, Lidstrom, Yzerman, McCarty, etc., etc., etc.!!

I think it's more a matter of the extent of the anger. Frustration, yeah. Anger - why? We have no control over how they play, and who the general manager and coaches choose to play on the team, Or for that matter, how the lines are formed. If you can deal with the fact that your anger only hurts you and nobody else (unless you go berserk and start attacking here on LGW), you can flail all you want to. I think anger is more about ego, and not helpful to anyone, mostly yourself. What I don't want to see happen here is that we go after each other because of our views. By the way, I love this topic. It's a good time for it. If we stay on subject.

THIS. I've been sober for a long time and one thing I learned early on (though it was very hard to practice) is you don't judge others. You look in the mirror and you say, "You are looking at the problem". I wholeheartedly, 200% agree that Murph's alleged drinking is none of our damn business. You can obviously think what you want, but it's STILL speculation.

Turn blue, Bettman.

Agreed. If you're going to talk about parity you can't just talk about one team. That's the whole idea. It's about what's happening around the league to all the teams. Some are better, some are worse but it is evening out. You also have to talk about perspective, not the Immediate Reward Thing. The good teams will suffer soon enough, and the iffy teams will find a way to come back. In time. Not in our time. It just keeps cycling and it will never, ever agree with our sense of what should be happening for our team right now.

Thanks for this compilation and I totally agree with your last sentence. Doesn't mean it's going to happen but the potential is there. Ok. Maybe except for the refs.
-
-
I'm not sure how I could agree less with this statement. Right now, it's personnel and it's the lack of team play.
-
Thanks for the suggestion, Marty! I DO feel better!
-
Or as I think it turned out, what the refs are NOT made of.
-
This refereeing is illegal. Breach of promise for NOT calling a fair game. WHEN are they going to start suffering the consequences of any and all horrific play-calling? YOU ALL SUCK!
-
That's it, Flip. Keep looking for that perfect pass.
-
There is absolutely NO team in the league that does more cheapshotting after the whistle.
-
I.hate.Barrett.Jackman. Cheapshotting P.O.S. Meanwhile, I've been able to watch since the middle of the second period and I've seen at least four penalties that could have EASILY and LEGALLY been called on St. Louis. Way to go, you blind, biased lazy-a$$ excuses for...uh...referees.

Oh, how lovely it would have been to see Big Al accidentally let loose of that slimy wonder right at that bobble-headed bore and watch it slide down his pudgy little body.. Hell, they're probably gonna get fined anyway.
-
Screeners?...! Wherefore art thou, oh big-butted wonders?

He remains a class act.
