I also believe it's a battle between good and evil. At least in the world of athletics. Or another way to put it is between crude and class.
-
Yeah, mostly. But why not Abdelkader-Draper-Maltby? And yeah, I like the way Sammy's been playing, but can you imagine the havoc that fourth line would create?!
-
Probably. But he has been an asset on the fourth line.
-
Didn't somebodyhere show a video clip of him going up in the stands and beating up some fan? Or am I thinking of some other idiot?

What I want to believe right now is that once again, the Wings' know their backs are up against the wall. And we know how they usually play under those circumstances. What's more it's their wall and their house, and with any luck at all these unwelcome visitors will get their asses kicked out the back door.
-
Of course that's what they do. They choose beforehand what side they're gonna take and then their really bad acting skills take over. Ah, the cynicism. Ah, the lack of any real conviction about anything...
-
Did you see some of the calls that went against us when they did play it physically? Was it Rafalski that called for doing NOTHING?
-
Hey, if you were a giant you could also squash the Ericsson-dodging-but-go-after-Rafalski Perry, and the Is-my-visor-on-straight Niedermeyer. And be my guest!

Oh! Hi there. I have wiped my tears away so I guess I can respond to you now. Meanwhile, I believe some corrections are in order here? The Ducks are an OK team with one line so their strategy is to win games by pushing the edge and pummeling their opponents and causing interference/obstruction any way they can and hope to get away with it. If you were a true Ducks' fan you would know this since most of their fans seem to understand this? For your information, it's called strategic violence/fighting by some. A clever term, but not always accurate because it's a nice way of saying that part of that strategy is that they wait for the whistle and then come in for their shots. And some of them...no, really!....some of them make sure their visors are adjusted and their gloves remain on because they're beyond chickens*** cowards. And some, no really!...deliberately attack players smaller than themselves for no reason at all, and sometimes those attackees have just come back from injury. No, really! And some...no, really!....hook an opposing player after the game is supposedly done and hope for retaliation. Hey, I wouldn't kid you about this. I could even make sure you see some video?.....Naw, I don't think you're ready for that... And in the Ducks' case, sometimes they're not called when they should be. No, really! So now and then, JUST now and then, it upsets some of us people who are fans of real hockey. You know, the puck possession, finesse style of play where the object is not to attack after the whistle but to beat your opponents fair and square? Whoops. Sorry. I can tell you have no idea what I'm talking about so I guess I'll just go back and continue sobbing into my kleenex. But please. Be sure to say hey to your other little co-posting companion for me, OK? Goodbye and be sure to have a nice day.

MODS:???? What are the chances of these two talking amongs themselves elsewhere? Anywhere elsewhere? Thank you!!

What the hell did you think a class act like Listrom would say in front of thousands of viewers? that they really only have one line so they resort to...uh...other means to make points? That the Ducks take liberties all the time and get away with it? That (for instance) Niedermeyer should have been called on his pummeling of Holmstrom in front of the net? That maybe if he had been nailed, all the rampant, uncontrolled goonery after the whistle might not have happened because the refs were actually in control of the game? ...That he hopes his team comes together tomorrow night and beats the absolute bejesus out of those goons who've gotten away with this crap all season? Of course, far be it from me to put words in Lidstrom's mouth. I'm sure he thinks they're all wonderful human beings and should be at least teaching Sunday School somewhere.
-
No, but they sure as hell have got to be first in that category. In the regular season, they were the "highest-rated" team in penalties. Our Wings are playing them right now. They are taking cheapshots and consistently getting away with them. NO team in the league gets away with not being called as much as the Ducks do. And the irony of hearing one of the announcers last night saying that the Ducks are staying away from the penalties was not even laughable., it was sickening. It was stupid and naive. I HATE THEM and I hope they lose so badly they don't forget it till they put skates back on next fall. Hope that answers your question. Have a nice day.

Even.if.you.put.Downey.in.the.game.he.will.not.EVER.be.out.there.to.pound.on.the .first.or.second.string."enemy".who's.harrassing.our.stars. WHEN OH WHEN WILL WE ALL GET THAT FIGURED OUT???!! And he can't skate. He can't shoot or score. Other than that............................

If you believe in karma, the Wings will win tomorrow night, even if it's the instant-gratification-kind of karma. If you believe in justice, the Wings will win tomorrow night. If you believe that the best thing that can happen to the cheapshot, after-the-whistle, goon-oriented hotdog Ducks is that they lose tomorrow night after all that nasty, hard work of beating on their opponents then you're a real hockey fan. I honestly don't know who I disrespect more right now. The Ducks or Bettman and Campbell.

Thank you. I left out that "fact" in my rebuttal. I would only add one word to your description. "Chickens***".

Facts: The Ducks play a game of strategic violence/hitting/after-the-whistle bulls***. Carlyle accepts it if he doesn't condone it. They have gotten away with it for as long as I've watched hockey, which is about 12 years. The Wings seldom start fights. They are NOT fighters and they're not good at it. But if you think they're gonna stand there and take the Ducks' goonery, then you'd probably make a really good ref. Niedermayer has now made the list of being a cheapshot artist if he wasn't already. If he wanted to fight that he deliberately started with the elbow, WHY DIDN'T HE REMOVE HIS HELMET AND GLOVES? One more time. If the refs had called Niedermayer on his pummeling of Holmstrom, there's a chance the Ducks' goonery would not have happened. The refs did not maintain consistent control of the game. And yeah, my team did not play as well as they should have but you could never pay me to be a Ducks' fan. That's how little I think of them and their "strategies".

I do not believe this jackhole has had anything that's very positive about the Wings. Not sure why he picked the name, eccccssshhhhualllly....
-
I just love that line. And it's right on. Thanks.
-
I'm thinking you can almost count on that.
-
Oh, how I wish you could put your body where your mouth has been forever. I would dearly love to see you out there, showin' 'em all how to Do It. Get your game going with Downey and whoever else you want to see out there pounding away and let's see what the score is at the end of the game. :nonono: And you can roll your frickin' eyes till they fall out of your bulging head for all I care. I feel sad for you little man, because you're already a cynic and I'm thinking you're not that old.
-
I did not see how it all happened (but I can guess). Are you saying that the Wings started all that crap?
-
Well, hi there. How kind of you to come visit. Why do I think you wouldn't have shown up if the Wings had beat your...uh...boyz tonight? ....just LOVE the drive-bys, yesssirreee... Pavel fights like a *****? What'd you think of chickens*** Niedermeyer adjusting his visor? And what'd you think of Perry beating on our injured guy? Ethically speaking, your team sucks and probably always will. And like I said to another drive-by visitor, if your...uh...players beat us Thursday, I hope the next team takes your after-the-whistle-hotshots out. And myohmy how that list is growing...
-
If Neidermeyer had been called on his pummeling of Holmstrom in front of the net, the bulls*** started by your players AFTER THE WHISTLE probably wouldn't have happened. Once again, your...uh...boyz got away with it. You gonna stand in line to help polish Nieder's visor? Probably a little bit messed up...
-
You really really need to probably get the hell out of here for the time being? The after the whistle bulls*** by your "stars" was sickening. Even if it turns out your uh...boyz win, I hope someone pounds them collectively into the ice. Maybe in Siberia.
-
Not if we see Neidermeyer and Perry first. I sure hope Neidermeyer's visor is ok. What a chickens*** piece of crap he is. Perry beating up on Hudler??? Was that really what was happening? Anybody? Anybody?????
