Naw. Not a chance. You already said Downey would score before him, remember, hotshot?
-
Hilarious. Did you think that one up all by yourself?
-
Plus he chose to be 20 feet from the frickin' play till they really started pounding Ozzie.
-
Are his eyebrows in cornrows? They are beyond strange.
-
It's the end of the first and my legs are still shaking. Weird, but typical.
-
Then they interview some other Ducks' jackhole at the intermission. I lift my leg in their general direction.
-
Other than three hooks and a take-down of Datsyuk, I'd say it's been fairly reffed.
-
THIS!
-
I dunno. Could affect their golf swing.

Matthew Barnaby was just asked on espn what the Ducks would have to do to win tonight. He said, "Pray". He thinks the Wings will win it tonight. For once I think the kid has taste!

Rafalski practices for the first time in 12 days

This is exactly what I'm thinking. He won't be up to speed. And there's no way the Ducks will not try to go after him, especially on the boards. I'm just grateful I don't have to make the decision. -
Thanks for the update, Mindfly!

Thanks for starting this thread, Hockeysattva! I really love reading all these stories because it proves the point that sports can be such a positive in so many ways. And not just in a venting way, but in a bonding way.

I'm a firm believer in positive thoughts and vibes. We ALL need to go this route tonight, not only for the Wings in general, but especially with Dats. Don't think about it. Don't scoff it. Don't poopoo it. JUST DO IT!!!

I totally agree. Keep it close so the Ducks actually have to play some hockey. What a concept. But I truly believe the Wings have worn them down and if they keep the pace up, they'll win. Mainly because the Ducks have to catch 'em to hit em!

You better yell yer butt off, dude!
-
I hope you're wrong, but you've been a great visitor and and good fan of your team.
-
Yeupp. It depends on what the Ducks' chances are of coming back with a win. If they're not close, look out.
-
Agreed. No matter how you look at it, they've already contributed, even having not played much. My problem would be - if Babs expects strategic bulls*** from the Ducks - who gets removed from the game so those guys can come in, even later in the game?

I've notice that Babcock is not leaving his stars out there at the end of the game if he doesn't have to. Wise decision, especially against the Goonieducks.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
Vladifan replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
What a perfect analogy. Or whatever it's called. It's like apple and oranges. I personally like them both and they're both good for me. I think for myself I'm just gonna be damn grateful we have both of 'em. -
I can start with the fact that I know and understand it's part of the game but I don't appreciate the violence in hockey - even though I relish seeing players like Pronger, Jackman and Perry get pounded. Mainly because they're cheapshot artists and that shouldn't be part of the game. Meanwhile...even though I was born and raised near Chicago, we spent a lot of good years in Michigan. I fell back in love with the Wings when the Russian Five came together. I never ever saw hockey played like that. And there probably will never be another phenomenon like them. Ever. It was like watching human billiards except there was unbelievable puck possession and passing added to the mix. To me, they still are one of the best examples of the class, wisdom and finesse of the Red Wings. And as VladyIBelieve says: I've watched them through good and bad and I have to say I love the organization and the players and what they symbolize. It's definitely kept me going over the years and they have gotten me through some tough times. I totally agree and understand where she's coming from. I really feel that by the grace of the hockey gods, I am a loyal fan of the Detroit Red Wings. I also truly believe there's no athletic team on the face of the earth that epitomizes the very best in every aspect of the game, from its history and from management on down. And as we speak, I predict Hossa will stay with the Wings. Not because I want him to but because he knows there's no better place for him anywhere. GO, WINGS!! GO, SWEET OZZIE!!!!
